BadBoyBeltran is already using the EVO VI TME Ti Turbocharger... that would be the person to ask... I can't see the MR moving much more (if any) air than that one.

AS far as comparing the 2 ti turbos go, the 10.5 should make slightly more Ps than the 9.8 by reducing the backpressure between the cylinder & turbo. So while generating the same boost, the 10.5 turbo should provide more Ps due to better cylinder scavenging / less of a contaminated charge for the next cylinder event = bigger bang = more Ps. However, a slight loss of spool up will be experienced. How much? I dont know, ~100/300 revs I am guessing.

Eclipseqs2k1, the guy is in the UK. I found out what he was doing on http://www.lancerregister.com and just pm’d him. I don’t know if there is anyone over in the US doing it but as I said, it is a cool solution to a 400bhp turbo.

You kids are way to concerned with spool time. Have you actually ever driven a car that makes 400whp and spools at 3800 rpms? some how i dont think you have.

Good luck.

I dont mind the slower spool up time. I want a nice push to the seat and keep it coming all the way up top. Im going for the ams GT30R. Peace....

Point to point a car with better spool up but less power will always win. This is why many track bay cars/race cars use N/A units instead of turbos. It is all about response. To give you an example, a 550bhp N/A Metro 6R4 can keep up with a 700bhp RS200 around a rally cross track. It is also the reason that we have anti-lag systems. Are you telling me would say no to 1.5bar (22psi) of boost at just above tick over?

The stock turbo is capable of 400whp. Here's my dyno graph when AMS tuned my car. I personally feel the car spools to fast.

400 whp SAE corrected? potentially 450+ hp? completely 100% stock turbo? something doesn't add up. That's beyond the maximum theoretical flow capabilities of the stock turbo.

411whp on the stock turbo!!!! WOW thats gotta be a record! Is this with pump gas or c16?

Also what are your mods and why do you say it spools to fast? please share, thanx.

Check my profile for the mods, just bolt ons and a AEM EMS basically.

It's the most I have seen so far on the stock turbo, but that's nothing now that so many evo's have upgraded turbo's. Sunoco GT 100 unleaded. When driving on the highway about 70 or 80, with just the lightest amount of throttle and the car is imediately in boost. It's not that bad for now, can't wait for the GT35R kit.

Just got a PM from the guy in the UK that builds the bb turbos. He says that he uses a Garrett core with Ti shaft and exhaust wheel. He will do it on a stock unit but there is a likelihood that the stock shaft will bend under the load!!!! He also says that the turbo has NO lag whatsoever. You guys really need to get someone to start doing this. I know it is DEAD cheap over there for humongous great turbos but there are few people that will ever run those units to anywhere near the limits of them. I mean the GT35R is a fabulous unit but you need to be running 500bhp + to see the benefits over the GT30R (unless you are running a strocker hehe). All these point are just my opinion and I’m not dissing anyone.

Kcevo what pressure where you running the turbo at? That is a GOOD torque output for a bone stock unit.

Thanks Chris.

We were running at like 26 or 27 psi at peak torque, but then the turbo was maxed out and kept falling back as you approached redline. At redline it was at about 22 to 23 psi. Definately time for the GT35R kit.

Also, there is no need for the stroker kit to run the GT35R. I don't know if you have seen AMS's Evo video but there is absolutely no lag at all. The car has a completely bone stock bottom end. Anyway, here is the video if you have not seen it.

Thanks mate, I have seen the vid, very good indeed. I would still like a stroker kit though. Think of all the extra torque. It would also help with the off boost characteristics and, as they say, there is no replacement for displacement.

They are very good figures considering the boost you where running. There have been a few in the UK running 2.0bar + off the stock turbo with around 420/430lbsft, but I think they had a bb conversion as I’m sure that would kill the turbo otherwise.

Cheers Chris.
