Tuner right or wrong

So i have 03 evo stock head stock block

fp red turbo
kelford cams
450 walboro with dble pumper
1050x id inj3ctors i have 1700cc on hand to switch over
aem fuel rail
fuel labs fpr

went to get a tune on e85, was told that the car wouldnt be able to handle safely since injectors are to much.
then he tells me i can run e85 on the 1050x injectors.
instead of just questioning him i decided to stick with pump gas on the 1050x.
just want to know if the tuner was correct . Or should i have gone with someone else

Pretty sure a tuner can scale those 1700cc to work just fine. Its done all the time

Hey, Im E85 tuned & on the 71HTA turbo & im out of injector using the RC1000's.

Seems like a tuner more familiar w/EvO's & E85 is needed

Yup, tuner is wrong. He must not feel comfortable scaling larger injectors. Also, you'll max out those 1050cc's with an FP Red on E85 fairly quick.

1050cc isn't enough for Red on E85. But double 450lph pumps are overkill. Lol.

On stock block, Red will make enough torque to break your rods and vent your block. Make sure you find a tuner who knows to keep torque down.

A stock turbo can do that. Controlling torque is a given with the stock motor.

OP, find a new tuner. It should not be an issue to tune 1700's for the right tuner.

I am in SATX as well, I was just tuned on E85 and am running FIC 2150's. Sounds like the tuner you are using does not know how to scale injectors. Pm me if you need anything.

On the bright side, I have a set of FIC 1450s that I recently got back from RC after cleaning/testing. I'd be willing to trade you straight across, as long as you don't mind shipping first so I have no down time. They are overkill for my application, so looking for 1050s, assuming yours are high-z.

As others have said, find a competent tuner that knows these cars and is familiar with E85. That one just isn't.
