Suggestions on how to remove the OEM Trans mount?

Like the title states. I can definitely remove the 4 nuts holding it in but removing the studs is another story.

I have a craftsman impact wrench that I think might work if I lock 2 nuts on a stud but I want the opinion of others and how they have done this job. I have a fresh torque solutions trans and passengers mounts to go in.

Already have the torque solutions front mount in.

Are you talking about these? If so, you do NOT take the studs out. That's why there are nuts on them, otherwise they would be bolts.

I have the torque solutions trans mount that comes with supplied bolts. The mount will not fit over the studs so they have to go. There are pictures on STM site with the mount and bolts in the trans

I was mistaken the studs do fit in the holes but why would I be supplied bolts with the mount?

You will have to remove the OEM pointed studs & replace them w/the TS bolts.

FYI / I run the TS mount system

Mind giving me tips on how to remove the studs/how you did it? Also how do you like the mounts, I have been hearing great things about them. Already have TS front mount in and the TS passenger mount laying around somewhere waiting to be put in.

Mine just rotated out w/the use of Vise Grips. Dont damage the threads! If that doesnt work, you can double nut it & then use a proper wrench to rotate out. Like I noted, mine came out w/ease (Calif car). You can consider using some PB Blaster on them if needed

Im not running the rear trans mount, as I heard it transmits too much NVH into the cabin so that one is still stock. I like the mounts for sure. My RS is set for track day service work!

You can dubble nut the stud to remove them.

I've seen bolts strip, when not careful. Why in heck would you want to voluntarily remove the studs?? Not trying to challenge anyone, I'm genuinely curious.

Hi Jason, IIRC the OEM nuts will not fit into the recessed area of the TS bracket (creating a loose fit). The TS allen bolt heads are designed to fit flush w/the bracket

take the nuts off.
pull off the mount.

spray pb blaster so it seeps down in the stud... let set for 15 or 20 minutes.

use the two nut method and a impact... comes right out.

Did the job today. To my surprise the studs came right out. Used PB blaster, let it soak the double nut locked and impacted the top one and they came out no problem. Torqued down the supplied bolts to 35 lb-ft as per recommendation. Now just the side motor mount to do
