Hello guys. I am planning to change my stock camshafts on my evo ix with bigger. I am between tomei poncams 270 type R with lift 10.7 and 10.2 and tomei procams 270 with 11.5 lift.I was wondering what is the max rpms over the stock redline that evo ix engine can handle with safety without a failure. And if i need to change connecting rod bolts or connecting rods for better safety. Also if i go with procams its a must to change valve springs and retainers too? Or only valve springs.My engine has stock internals and stock turbo. But i am planning changing the turbo in the future (hks 7460R). Give me your lights guys !!

 

 

8k is the consistently reliable limit.

 

7460r will give you max power at 7000 and then keep it flat untill 8000... we run one such stock block engine with gsc s2 cams and 7460 with 8200 rpm rev limit.. However, "doing it with safety without failure" is relative..

 

I ran even an FP Red and at over 7800 rpm on a 2.0 it was out of steam
