Evo 9 mr transmission upgrade routes?
Yeah, I can relate to that lol. She always pulls the "We need to save for retirement" card. We are not even 28 yet and we both have 401k and pension plans.
Not to derail this thread, but a simple savings account will NEVER last. Residual income is the key to a good retirement.

I won't mind footing that bill for my 6spd, but it's going to have to wait for about a year from now. My ultimate goal is a sequential. I've already cleared it with the responsible party in my relationship (the GF
). At that point, the Evo will be my "forever car" because I will never, ever be willing to loose money on that deal.
A friend of mine retired @ 52 and 90%. It comes out to six figures. Kalifornia state has THE best retirement packages.

I do want to have money to play with when i'm a retired old fart, but with how easy it is to spend thousands on these cars, I can only see that happening through having real estate, tenants, and perhaps a franchise or two.
I decided long ago not to suffer now to have a cushier retirement later. I'm still being responsible, but not like one of my other friends. She lives like a college student LOL.
I only have a few years left to really enjoy the things I like to do, so doing it all while I can. I could die tomorrow.
Otherwise I'd save and save and save and never actually enjoy any of it.
it's literally the only reason I'm in the career field I'm in: to pay bills ,retirement ,and enough leftover for track days. 😂

6 speed is fine just rebuild it. A close friend is running 550lbs of torque through his, no launching......no issues, just use redline MT90.
Get some Synchrotech Carbon syncros and do it yourself. Read the DIY trans thread and service manual.
i will try to find the link.
or better yet buy a brand new 5 speed trans for $2400 and sell your old trans for $600~$700.

But ill probably just use the 6sp until i have issues with it. Worse comes to worse i can always call up shep for a 5sp i guess.
I was gonna order new also, seeing how my rebuild is going to cost $2800. Still....I guess $2800 is better than $3500.

As I figured, it's BS. They accidently uploaded the part number to their inventory. I figured something was up when I Googled the part number and everything days "discontinued" and had no picture. Plus it was listed at $1300 cheaper than any current listings LOL
