If you have access to E85 then the fp red is going to be your best bet.
If you only have pump gas then an fp black should make close to 475-500whp. Both with MHI housings .
If you go BB then an oil pressure regulator and proper crankcase vent is recommended .
If you want power easier and don't mind 700-1000 rpm worth of lag on each then the SS housing will do it.
Here are three dyno graph's .
Sean's mivec 2.2 ( EDIT , this wasn't full power. Fuel pump was changed then run to near max on the street)
My mivec 2.2
A 2.3 mivec
A 2.0 mivec engine will also work well with the red and produce a strong 3800-7800 rpm powerband.
They also make a zero and zephyr but at that point a full turbo kit with a G660 or GTX3076R/3582R may need to be considered.
These are all on the FP Red MHI. The last one is a 2.3 so it will make more torque earlier then a 2.0/2.2.
A red is capable of making around 600+ at the tire on a dynojet with race fuel/E85
If you are pump gas limited then you may want something larger then a red. Or use meth to make more then pump gas.
I was considering a stock placement gtx3582r
Do you know of any comparisons involving it and the FP ??
The FP Black has a comparable compressor. Really, a Red is the largest stock frame that makes sense IMO. Once you start going bigger, a full turbo kit with comparable compressor specs will typically spool faster (or very similar) and make more power if a T4 twin scroll setup is used.
Also, the graph from car the Abacus post was not full power potential. We were out of fuel on the dyno. Changed the fuel pump later and turned it up a bit more to finish the tune on the street
