Ready to take to engine builders but having second thoughts....part 2
ok my below thread got closed, so here's part 2
So to recap, I'm about to take my built motor back for a final dyno tune after run in.
I've got a couple of questions before I take it this week
So I've been reading about built motors and high oil pressure, mine cold starts at 90 psi and drops back to 55 psi at idle when warmed up. Its hits up to around 95-100 psi at around 6k rpm. From what I have been reading here and in DSM forums, is that only one person has said that you could lock up your lifters but it seems everyone with built motors with balancer and squirter deletes have had no issues with the resulting high oil pressure.
Can I therefore safely conclude that I shouldn't worry about it? Or should I ask the tuner if he can port the oil relief valve just to be on the safe side?
One other thing, I have the old OEM suspension with whiteline 26 mm SW on the front and 24 mm SB on the back. The car handles pretty flat on the track and road but bangs a little when it hits a pothole. I can put up with it however I have invested a hell load for the motor I was thinking this was the time to do coil overs. I have the MCA coil overs picked out, aussie brand cause I can get good local support, but not the spring weight. I have read most of the posts about 8/10k combo etc however no one has stated what would be an ideal weight while retaining sway bars of this size. I'd like to keep them with coil overs. I want it to be like it is now but where I can wind up the dampening for the track or a hard drive. I don't DD it. The tuner had a few ideas like 7/7k however I don't want my car to be experimented on if I can help it and be too soft. Anyone want to throw a few numbers at me?
Thanks as usual for any answers, in advance.
