Evo 8 Front Upstream 02 Sensor

Tried replacing the Front Upstream 02 Sensor today but had trouble taking out the old one. The 02 sensor is rounded now from the heat and it is rust welded. We sprayed a ton of WD-40 on it but it just won't budge. Any tips on trying to get it out or loosen it.

I've never had good luck getting those out, even with the turbo/O2 housing out of the car for replacement.

Yeah, worst case scenario, we just replace the whole thing and get that headache out of the way. But I wanna see my options before I do that. I heard blow torching them or soaking them with rust chemicals should help. I will be trying those tomorrow.

So, we tried lubricating it with liquid wrench, blow torching, and hammering it. No luck so far. We are really running out of ideas and just plan to soak it with lubrication for a week and just keep trying every day. If that still won't work after a week, we'll just bite the bullet and pay a shop to do it for us. Btw, is it safe enough to drive the car to a shop with no front 02 sensor? I'm talking about a 15 minute drive on a highway.

Heat it up real real good...I’ve been down that road ...lots of heat and vice grips if you can get it down there. Also, remove the radiator for more clearance and again, heat it up real good.

Alright, we are giving up. Anyone know if we can drive the car with no Front 02 sensor (The wires were cut) to the shop or do we have to tow the car to prevent major damages

Pour a cap full of brake fluid on it and let it sit for two min. It will come off.
