Which exhaust? Help!

Hey guys, so I’m stuck between the Buschur SD Catback and the STM Titanium exhaust for my Evo 8. I’m aware of loudness etc if adding a testpipe and downpipe later down the road. But just wanted some opinions. Also can’t seem to find a video of the STM Titanium catback on a non-built Evo where I can see how it’ll sound for someone who’s car has no mods, such as mine. My Evo 8 is a 2003 with 12K original miles and I’m completely stock now. So a catback exhaust will be my first mod as usual. This is my 3rd Evo as well. Thanks

I'd go with the STM. I don't like the slip fit and clamped connections Buschur uses.

Source- I have a Buschur exhaust it on my car.

I'd go with STM. I have their O2 housing/downpipe combo and their aluminum catback with test pipe. Sound nice, high quality, and fitment is good.

I wanted the aluminum exhaust! But seems like they don’t sell it anymore. How much louder did it get when you added the downpipe and test pipe?.. unless you did all 3 at the same time. I was thinking of just doing the catback for now and seeing if I’m satisfied...I like being loud anyways. And your aluminum is with or without a muffler?

I’ve had it for 5 years or so. I’ve noticed they don’t sell it anymore. Probably because the titanium version is similar weight and more durable. I did it all at the same time to replace a cheap eBay turbo back. It’s louder than the eBay exhaust. I have the one with a muffler. I’ll try to find a video clip.

I think if you don’t do a test pipe, most exhausts will be relatively quiet.

See if this link works for you. It was my car getting tuned with the STM exhaust.

Yeah, that sounded just right for sure in your video. I sent STM pics of their exhaust requesting if it’s possible to not fabricate on the muffler or resonator they put by the tips and they stated yes for me to give them a call. (circled in pictures I provided) Pretty much it would be a straight pipe...just deciding wether installing their 02 dump downpipe, test pipe and stainless steal or titanium catback with no muffler/resonator would be a little excessive when it comes to how loud the car ends up. Decisions decisions

Mine does not have a resonators so it’s straight pipe all the way from turbo. The muffler is so small in diameter and length it’s probably acting more like a resonator than a muffler. O2 dump is excessive to me but I’ve debated doing one before too

Whatever you get from STM is going to be good.

If you're worried about loudness don't be. Evos aren't terribly loud unless your exhaust is dumping right off the turbo. Also, we're in Florida, where nobody gives a **** about how loud your car is. Hell, since one of my exhaust hangars decided to snap I'm gonna be fabbing a 3" turndown off of my test pipe.

I'd personally go with the STM titanium exhaust if I were you. Not because the Buschur sucks (it doesn't), I just prefer the sound and weight savings of titanium.

Lots of good systems out there.
I've run the full Tomei Ti system for years. Its lightweight and sounds good IMO. I've made 675whp thru that system even with the slight neckdown at the test pipe.
