EVO 8 missing drivetrain

Hello,

If I was to pick up a roller Evo 8. How much would a used engine, t-case, and transmission run me? Where would I want to purchase those items? I want to pull the trigger on the roller because it's an amazing deal but I want to see if I can afford the drivetrain.

Just trying to buy my first Evo

Depends on mileage and im assuming you're looking for stock and doing the work yourself, all three could cost as anywhere from 6-10k or much more but good condition ct9a parts are becoming more rare and expensive each year. Does it have a rear diff, driveshaft, axles ect? There is alot more to a roller than you might think. i wouldnt recommend a rolling shell for anyone unless you have alot of money to build it or a donor car.

The car includes rear diff, driveshaft, engine harness, front and rear axles. Where would I find those parts used? Marketplace and Craigslist. Any other options?

ACD T-case or Non-acd?

ACD will be cheaper and easier to find. but then you also need the acd pump.

My expected prices would be:
acd t-case= $700-$1000
non acd t-case = $1,000-$1,200
used long block = $3,500-$4,500
used transmission - $1,200 - $1,500

This is the engine, transmission, and tcase I was looking at, thoughts?

I'm not entirely sure if it is ACD or non-ACD.

What year is the evo your looking to buy?
03-04= non acd
05=ACD

I don't think the trans and t-case from a JDM engine like you have linked would work with a USDM evo 8. perhaps others here can confirm.

It's an 03. Oh for real? Could someone verify that? I don't want to drop that much on something that isn't gonna work.

search it up- https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...dm-roller.html

Sounds like the JDM trans and engine might work, but not the t-case since its ACD.

You are probably adding more unknown headaches by trying to go JDM instead of just buying USDM stuff.

What would I need to make the ACD work? I'm having a hard time finding a non-ACD TC.

if you have a working non acd transfer case for $700 ill take it ... lol.
I would revise that to $1000-$1500

other prices look good to me.
