GTX3076R GEN 2 - Turbo question.
GTX3076R GEN 2 - Turbo question.
Just bought an Evo 8 and decided to make a few changes. The car is currently at the shop being mounted.
The mods I have so far are:
Build engine 2.0
Forged pitons
Forged rods
GSC 272 cams
Ingnition Project Coils
Magnus Intake Manifold
Magnus Fuel Rail
Injector Dynamic ID1700
Car runs on E100
Garrett GTX3076R Gen 2 T3 A/R 0.82
Custom Build exhaust manifold
AMS Intercooler
Custom Build charge pipe
AEM series 2
Tial Blow Off
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Stock TB
Nitrous Express Universal Kit for EFI -
Nitrous Express Maximizer 5
CryO2 system - intended to use on the streets as C02 cheaper than nitrous. Where I live we have 95 degress all year.
OEM BBS wheels
Toyo R888R tires
This is not my daily. It will driven on the streets for fun, and ocasionally at the dragstrip. My goal at the drag is a mid 10s car. The nitrous it something that I only intend to use at the track.
So basically I have couple questions:
1- Can I get 10s car with the gtx3076r gen 2 and the nitrous ?
2- How much nitrous should I run ? 75 , 100 or 150 shot ?
3- Does it worth at this point (brand new gtx3076r just installed in the car) to buy a gtx3576r gen 2 ?
2- Can I fit a gtx3582R gen2 in my gtx3076r gen 2 turbo housing ?
Thanks

There is no reason to run an open scroll turbine housing when there are both T3 and T4 twin scroll turbine housing options for either the 30r or 35r turbine. Also, based on my testing comparing 3076 vs 3576, there was no loss of spool and the 3576 made +40hp on the topend. Run either the 3576r or or the 3582r with a twin scroll turbine housing and expect about a 400-500rpm lag between the two turbos because of the larger compressor wheel.
What are you running for fuel pumps? You will need to run ID2000 injectors as well, the 1700's will only do 600-620whp on a dynojet
If the manifold isn't built yet, I highly suggesting changing the T3 hotside out for a vband in/out hotside. They flow and spool better.
You won't need nitrous to run 10's. The car should make well north of 600whp on just the turbo.

But as far the mechanic told me, there is more than enough. This car already had 738whp.
I saw 2 pumps under the car and a surge tank. So I beleive this is not a problem.
Regarding the manifold, it was custom made here, and as Brazil does not have this turbo in V-band I had to stick with t3.
But this is not a problem. My plans are to keep this turbo for a year. See how it behaves, and then go for a G30-770 a G30-900. The car is currently out of my city. Here I have a friend that can work on the manifold for me. This guy use to do submarine welding for the world's biggest oil companies.
