Sticky shifter after short throw install

I purchased the ilr money shifter. Got it installed and works like it should for the most part. However once i attach the shifter cables it wont snap back to the neutral position. It trys to stay left or right. Granted i do not have the transmission installed right now but i didnt notice it wth the previous shifter. Any ideas to loosen it up.

welll.... if you unhook the cables from the shifter... does it spring back to center easy?
if not, its the small spring on the side.

if it does, then you got something binding in your cables.

it snaps back fairly easy and without help. Im just stumped because I didnt have an issue with the prev shifter. I have no doubt its from the cables. just not sure how to free them up a bit

i may be wrong... but i thougth the real spring back was from the tranny... the little spring is just a helper.

i would connect them up the trans and see what you got.
