The setup you are looking at is pretty common with both the green and the red so I'd go hunt through the dyno results section and see if you can find a few examples of each to compare and make a decision from there.
I disagree. Its closer to 250-300rpm from green to red (MHI housing) on the 9.
Regardless of what it is we've got an engine that goes proud and reliably to 8000+ rpm. All the bolt on turbo's nose over but the red is still a perfect match for a fun street car 3800-8000. The green is still to small IMO on the 9.
You also have to respect the 400lb ft rule at low rpm's with the boost controller. You can exceed that with the green or red below 4000 so the earlier spool up of the green doesn't help that on a stock engine. Furthermore, Too small of a turbo/boost at low rpm can cause compressor surge because the engine can't ingest the air.
The green or red will still come up hard enough to powerslide the car or break differentials at low speeds. The red will just continue to pull over the green until redline.

I don't like the 71hta. It's comes on too hard even at part throttle, makes the car annoying to drive for me.

I would do a green or 18k.

Lots of good quality information here on turbo's. After re-reading this thread. I think I will focus on making my setup solid around my evo 9 turbo.

I have always been satisfied with stock turbo Evo's on a 300-350whp setup/tune. Straight line driving just doesn't get my adrenaline pumping as much

Once that is established, I can upgrade to a FP RED with some S2 cams. (if I really wanna notch up the power).

How is the reliability and spool of AGT compared to FP?

Great question. Alot of dyno charts are on AGT IG and FB pages.

Its not a bad product for the price, but no idea on reliability since its a fairly new turbo production.

Not much on these forums about AGT as well, tons of information on FP here tho.

Great question though, id like to see some responses and reviews of AGT turbo's

I just put a modified 9 turbo on by AGT. Everything looks good in the ~500 miles since tune.

I'd like to see durability of one that sees the track being that it's a low cost turbine housing I believe

Yea, losing 300rpm doesnt seem to bad, for what you get.

On a street/canyon stock block car that might see less than a handful of tracks days would you still go green over red?

FP spools better and make more power.
