ACT Street Clutch
ACT Street Clutch
Ihad my ACT street clutch put in a little over 800 miles ago, and when I picked it up the throw out bearing was making a little noise. THe mechanic said that should go away with in a few hundred miles after breaking in the clutch. No biggie right. Well it's been over 800 miles and the noise is still there. It only is there when the clutch is fully engaged, pushed to the floor. Does anyone have this clutch and does it do the same thing? Is this normal or should I replace the throwout bearing?
Clutches dont make throw out bearing noise, throw out bearings make throw out bearing noises. Mostly throw out bearings make noise from the retaining ring and clip assembly getting raked by the tranny's input shaft on install. It is a kind of goofy design by Mitsubishi that does not put up with monkeys abusing it on installation.
There is nothing that the guys at ACT could have done to make the throw out bearing make noise.
