Clutch Slippage

In the last week, my cars clutch has been slipping in 3rd and 4th gears when I put the hammer down. Upgrades include Vishnu, dump back/high flow cat., adjustable cam gears, XEDE, Vishnu dyno tuned at 310hp. Has anyone else out there had problems with their transmission? It was suggested to me to try to take it back to the Mitsubishi dealer since I’ve only had for 7000 miles and 8 months. I really don’t launch it off the line, but I do drive it hard, especially in 3rd and 4th. Anyone have any experience with warranty work after modifications? I live in Hillsborough, NJ and bought my unit from Global Auto Mall in Plainfield. Other dealers in the area are Brad Benson and Bell Mitsubishi. Anyone have experience with work performed by any of these three dealers?

I have been having a lot of problems with the warranty dept. I have an aftermarket clutch and my transmission is completely destroyed. Mitsubishi is doing nothing about it.

AJM: I'm having the same issue right now, in 4th and 5th especially. Technically, the clutch is warrantied through 12,000 (so says the manual), but as you may have read, in the DC area we've been having huge issues with warranty work (or the lack thereof). I think it's going to come down to which dealership you visit. I also think you're doing the right thing by asking who's had experience with certain dealers, hopefully you'll find someone cool to deal with. Good luck, I'm curious to see how it's taken care of. I, of course, have 12,500 miles In the end, I'm going to buy a new clutch that I know will take the punishment of track use, while still being slippy enough for drag style driving. I'm still researching, and not sure if I'll find what I need.

The stock clutch will not hold that kind of power (310whp) for long. It was never intended to and you are loosing performance through your stock clutch. Warranty work has a very low probabilty with those kinds of mods and I'm not sure I dissagree.

Get a aftermarket clutch, it will be well worth it......I'm just waiting for mine to start sliping before I do. But then watch out for your tranny!!!
