My car was fine with the intake filter (cone-type, RMR), but when I had the intake pipe installed, my A/Fs went super-lean (14.3:1). Al fixed them back to 11.0:1, but it's something to be aware of.

I think what he meant was $800 on the parts and reflash? Maybe not? would be hard to believe you couldn't feel any added power to your car after your second batch of mods? I would also think Al has a reflash for that specific intake?

I had similar problems with my cat-back. I installed the Espelir cat-back and everything went fine except the part throttle driving was quicker but full throttle the car would stumble above 4500-5000rpm's.

I reset the ECU lastnight and the car doesn't stumble anymore. I still think it would benifit from a tune though.

Reset the ECU. It's easier than sneezing and won't cost you anything. If it doesn't work, then I'd contact your tuner and have a talk with them. Maybe they can make some adjustments that would help.

Good luck!

I agree, these cone style filters do need to be tuned for max gains. Several tuners have addressed this and see the erratic readings on the dyno. A drop-in should be fine w/o tuning since it keeps the stock air flow path.

Are you guys just talking as if you did a intake as your only mod and running lean? I have a HKS dp, cat back, and rs intake on my car and I've noticed a big difference in my car. I picked up like 9 whp on the dyno after just the intake. I have no AFC or any kind of tuning equipment on my car at all. When it was on the dyno the guys said my A/F was just fine.

I'm ordering a Walbro on Monday and having it installed before I get my car Dynoflashed the first week of July. If all goes well, I may get a few other things too.

Like I said, I am not buying the retune for an air intake excuse.

Seems like a line of crap from some of the tuners too me.
