Question Various parts questions

Hi guys,

got some questions for y'all:

1. Does anyone know what, if any, is the difference between the Ralliart and K&N filters?

2. Seems like a lot of the heat in the engine bay comes off the manifold (duh ), instead of putting a heat shield over it, has anyone thought of turning the heat shield into a heatsink?

3. Stock battery dimensions? I'm gonna order a relocation kit, but I need to make sure the stocker will fit and I'm not anywhere near my Evo

4. What, if any, are the differences between the various grounding kits? I'm leaning towards the Renn-Art, since it's the least expensive retail kit, or a Ralliart kit that I keep seeing on eBay.

All your thought and comments r welcome

BTW,,,,, I have a "new" 5 minute used K&N for sale,,,,, $60 shipped.

And maybe the HKS RS,,,,,,, $270 shipped,,,,,
One down, three to go...

Check out the Ground Fusion kit http://www.groundfusion.com/ not the cheapest but I've heard good things about it. I will be replacing my DIY kit with this next week. For people in the DC area he is offering a great deal on this kit installed. Check out his thread on DCEVOCLUB.COM.

1. most filters are just a copy of K&N
2. you can make it a heat sink by welding alot of aluminum blades on the heat shield

With item 2:
Keeping the heat in keeps the exhaust speed up. It is better to wrap the manifold and turbo in heat wrap to keep the heat where it belongs.

...which in turns will cause the manifold to crack and fail.... th manifold was not designed to retain heat for long periods of time if it was it wouldn't have been made of cast like it is... Sure wrapping will keep heat in but when temps get too hot &%^$ will crack from expansion and so forth

Can't answer #4 about battery size, but I can tell you my Buddy that relocated his to the trunk said it was a huge PITA and a waiste of time. He would by the smaller battery if he had to do it all over again and just keep it under the hood.
