Can I tow a small trailer w/ my EVO?

Thats the question........I did a search and nothing came but something about sucking the crome off of a trailer hitch, Mitsu does not recommend it due to the short wheel base, that doesnt bother me because its a small motorcycle trailer with only 1 dirt bike on it. I am more worried about the powertrain and the effects on it, High EGT's, clutch wear, diff problems, etc.

Any feed back would be great.

thanks,
Tony

That is the reason why Mitsu doesn't recomend that you tow anything with it. Their tranny's and clutches suck so much...it's hard enough to haul around the car with the way we all get on it...but to expect to tow something too??? Personaly I don't see that what you are wanting to tow would kill it...but honestly with all the clutch issues and grinding gears no matter how far you have the clutch in...I wouldn't try it

While I won't claim to be an expert, the EVO just does not seem suited to towing. You need torque to tow something, and the EVO's real torque does not kick in until around 3,000 RPMs or so. You'll probably kill your clutch and put extra stress on your drive train...

Must be new to the site,

I believe any hitch on an EVO is going to be a custom fab job.

basically, avoid it, but if it's a must and you're willing to risk it then by all means....
