Come on guys...there has to be a way to get the SSQV to work with the EVO. The sound of the BOV is excellent but is causing the idle to go nuts if the gas is pressed while parked or rolling thru first gear and you have to let off the gas. Please help !!! There has to be something we can do ... there has to be someone with it in there car working... what did you do different then i did ? i tried the install like the right up on here, no luck, i tried modifying the hose to make it shorter and then using the original vacuum line for the bov from the stock one cause its bigger and still no luck...please help me...thanks
Did you disconnect the battery? If you did the idle will run like crap. Well it did for me anyway, so i disconnected the battery to reset the ecu,put the stock bov on, hooked the battery up and cranked it back over, waited for the ecu to run through its learn mode, went for a quick blat then changed it back to the hks ssqv vta with out disconnecting the battery and my car runs mint. If it doesnt work you may have to try an hks eids, or apexi safc -II.
As long as you are running MAF you will have slight stall issues and dropped idle rpms as you describe. I run mine adjusted to the hardest setting i.e. the adjustment bolt as far in as possible. This will help a bit but not 100%. Soon I will instal my MoTeC stand alone with MAP and those problems will be in the past

thanks a lot guys... any info on this subject helps, i will change my adjustment and see if that works, if not i will try the stock BOV thing, any other ideas are greatly appreciated...thanks
I had problems adjusting to the idle issues, but after driving around for a few weeks I've gotten use to it. In fact, I haven't stalled my car since the first few days I had it installed. I don't even notice it now. I've actually become a better driver because of it.

i've had it for a few days and i too am getting use to it, i dont stall it except when i am in parking lots behind cars cause of the short acceleration and nowhere to go to after that, thats the only time its a problem when i am downshifting to halt when i drop down thru the gears it never gets the chance to idle that low unless i stop quickly then i cant downshift like i want to....i thought about recirc'ing but those of you who are... did you guys lose the sound ? cause there is nothing like the hks whistle and thats the thing i worry about if i recirc....also can you guys post pics of your install and how you mounted everything. once i unpack my camera i will get pics of mine and post them, im curious to see how everyone is mounting things...thanks guys

yeah, i pushed my valve as tight as i could and you lose the whistle unless you are accelerating hard...so i backed it back out to about 3/4. where is the idle adjust to turn it up ? i can jump it up a few hundred rpm's ? or do i need a piggy back or safc II to fix this ?
on your accelerator cable by the inlet manifold/plenum there should be a phillips head screw to adjust the pulley position. Just turn it in a bit to change the cable position. Havent tried this myself but apparently it works. Let me know how you get on. An SAFC- II would probably be best in the long run, or for something cheaper try an HKS EIDS, dont know how well they work though.
