91 octane - 420 whp
Chuntington,
Once the car is fully tuned we'll be running higher boost on 91oct. We stayed at 18 psi for now but are hoping to bump boost to at least 21psi on 91oct.
I have a water injection system already installed on the car. At 18psi we've seen no need to fire it up. Once we hit higher boost levels I'm sure that it will come into play. My "daily driving" map will not include water injection. The person doing the tuning is afraid to rely on water injection for a daily driver due to the risk of the water injection system failing. Do you share that concern or do you think that he is being too conservative? I have an Aquamist system and to not use it on a daily basis makes me feel as if I wasted my money. What do you think?
RnR,
You're right. These stroker kits are a blast on the street. Your set up is awesome.

i agree with what you are saying 3240. its ok running WI on the street until one day you run out or get a leak. at least if you have 2 setups, with and without, then even if you get a leak or run out you are safe. and you can always turn it on and run higher boost if you need to. and its less of a waste of money than blowing a motor is!
have you looked at replacing the rods supplied with the TODA kit? im not sure if you would have to go with some custom, or just get some rods from a similar kit! do you know what rods are used in the TODA kit? stock 4G64 or something else? be nice to see how they compare to the stock EVO 8 rods (dimentions and strength).
thanks Chris.
PS i have to agree, RnR's setup will be very nice! wonder if it will rev to 9,000rpm!?!?!?!? LOL.

Chuntington,
The Toda kit did come with the stock 4G64 rods. They looked to be even weaker than the stock Evo rods so we replaced them with Pauter rods. The Pauter rods work really well with only mild modifications required. The Toda kit is a major dissapointment. The pistons are excellent but the rods and the crank are stock 4G64. The downside to my setup will be a 7.5k to 8.0k redline. I do not recommend the Toda kit. Spending $3k on a stroker kit and having to replace the rods is not my idea of a good investment.
