So to answer my question above, it appears there is no such animal?

For my frame and reach, the shifter is located in a perfect position for daily driving... I'm not willing to give that up. If I don't have to, I'm interested.

what type of trimming to what parts? I heard install is pretty simple but I'm no mechanic. Also where is the best place to get this part only adjustable one I found is listed at 190 bucks that seems a bit expensive for a short shift.

Well if you want the best deal out there for a short throw and the bushings, looks like you would be hard pressed to find a better deal that the Lancer Shop combo http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...3&cat=6&page=1
I would also suggest replacing your tranny fluid with the BG Synchroshift and throwing some Redline Heavy Duty Shock Proof in the differentials and mix in 2oz of Redline Limited-Slip Differential additive in the rear diff. I did my fluids per superz's recommendations and have been running it for about a year with great sucess and smoothness.

I am using the topspeed short shifter, works out very nice and seems like the throw was cut in half from the stocker

I like my Perrin short-shifter....and will never go back to the stock shifter.
My shifter has a "weird" angle to it, but I don't mind since I don't look at it when I drive anyway.

It's great...I cannot downshift from 3rd to 2nd, or 5th to 4th like I do when I had the stocker. Much quicker, makes rev-matching easier. Also going from 2nd to 3rd is just like a quick upward motion to the right....hard to explain, you just have to experience it I guess. Great when you're at the track...I don't remember the last time I missed a gear since I've had the short-shifter. Can't go wrong...in my opinion. Also installed GFB's underhood shifter bushing, and Kart-Boy shifter bushings...great!

That is correct. All 2005's have teflon coated shifter cables and the I can say the 5 speed feels much smoother than the 03-04. They also made a change to the transmission it self to find neutral easier.

would be cool to replace an older evo's shifter cables with the new teflon coated ones if possible...
