I like the idea of cams very much on paper (dyno results) and under foot (in spirited driving), but in daily driving, they still annoy me. I'd really like the extra 20-25whp and great midrange torque, but the idle is the area where I'm just not too sure. Every red light, every time I'm stopped in traffic on the interstate, it'll be: "GLUG_GLUG_GLUG_GLUG". I've talked about this before, but with a Honda background, you can have insane lift and duration cams with a silky smooth idle because of VTEC.

On to another more interesting note, I'd kind of hate to give up these hollow camshafts. Are any of the aftermarket cams hollow as well? I'd really like to upgrade with more hollow cams.

At this point, I'm thinking of the Vishnu FMIC, one step colder plugs, head studs, 650cc injectors, and a retune with more boost because of these mods. My power is very linear now, and I like its top end characteristics as well on the stock camshafts. Just need more oomph.

I'm about to give up on you.

With a good tune, you won't have a lumpy idle on HKS 264's, which is what you'll probably end up with, considering that an idle is more important than top end pull.

OH NOES!!!
Don't give up on me just yet, Joe. I've always taken the long way around regarding things car related. 264s with -3/-3 might be in the not-so-distant future. Still lots of things to weigh. I want that intercooler badly.

I have to say that I'm there with guack... the pipers are it for the money... I would go with the tomeis but I think the pipers will open it up more over the entire band... the 260 duration on the tomeis just doesnt do it for me...
