Is a JDM Evo VII engine, turbo, manifold different from USDM VIII?

My engine blew and Mitsu said no, so I have been looking for a replacement. I have found a JDM Evo VII engine, exhaust manifold, and turbo. Will this work in an VIII if I use the USDM manifold? The JDM manifold has the taps for the anti lag and although I could put an egt gauge there I am not really interested in it. As for the engine itself, will it work or are there any differences? Thanks for the help.

exhaust Manifold is different, but it can be used, physically the engines are virtually identical. You may need to use the USDM intake Manifold from your old engine because of the EGR system. I have an Evo VII head, and it does have the right passage for the EGR valve and everything else is pretty much the same.

Internally, I think there's a slight difference in the camshafts, otherwise I dont see any notable differences.

Well, this may sound strange, but I have been told that an EvoIV short block will work with the Evo IV water pump. If I went that route then I might as well put a stroker kit in it and just build the thing up. If only I could have gotten Nastea's short block. Oh well, I hate this s**t.
