CO/high altitude owners - boost question
CO/high altitude owners - boost question
I just installed my autometer phantom and it reads 16 psi up to redline all stock. Just wondering if this is normal for high altitude. Any info would be appreciated thanks.
You upped it to 19 psi with no supporting mods? I was planning on setting it to 18 which would be about 21 at sea-level I think. I'll probably do that after I get my TB exhaust and then dynoflash after that... Thanks for the reply!
I'm also at 5000+ feet. I'd love some input on a safe boost level with no supporting tuning at altitude. I was originally thinking 19 PSI, but now I'm starting to reconsiter... any input would be appreciated.
One my custom tuned Stage 1+ I run 1.6 bar (23.5psi) with no problems. I have run as much as 1.8 bar (26.5 psi) but Shiv turned it down on his last visit (
). It made 338/360 on 91 with the 1.6 bar setting.
We need to run a couple of "extra" psi up here (and can safely) to get enough air in. I wonder if compressor maps are different up here? Can we run more boost without the same level of charge heating that would occure at sea level? It seems so because that boost level at sea level would knock...
