Turbotrix’s Free Flashing dyno day was awesome!!!
All the cars there that day picked up power at the very least 10WHP with 12-14WTQ. Some guys car picked up about 50WTQ over a custom tuned flash.
I can’t wait to see all the dyno sheets. It seams to me that most flashes that were on the dyno were too aggressively tuned with to much ignition advance and the stock ecu reacting to fight detonation but Mark did is magic and the charts look awesome.
EVERY CAR MADE MORE POWER
Post the charts Mark!!!!!!
Nice meeting all!!

Hey guys ..
It was a good day. All the cars made more power, Each car only had about 3-4 runs and everyone left happy. Im just glad i could help those people out that had a problem. I have all the dyno sheets.. If i get time i'll post them up. Good meeting everyone.

With only 3 - 4 pulls per car how could you be sure that the ecu was not pulling timing with those lean a/f settings? Shouldn't there have been several test pulls after the tune was made to make sure there was no knock activity after some time with the new settings?
Also, I am not so sure that all of the customers were that happy as Al called here earlier today to set up some dyno time for some of these guys for tomorrow who are having concerns about the lean a/f ratio. We will have those dyno sheets shortly to see if the power holds over time.
Yeah I was happy with my car at first, it made 10whp more then what i came in on, (let me note its not a fair comparison because I added cams the day before the TT tune and was not previously tuned for them). BUT, later on Saturday night when the weather cooled down, I was having problems with the new tune. I hit fuel cut, or it least it felt like fuel cut as it would feel on a DSM, about 5 times that night. Each time I turned down the boost more, until I am now at stock boost and it hasnt cut out again. I also havent driven it in cooler weather again since, so I dont know what will happen. I feel the tune is a little unsafe for me at this point, because my car NEVER hit fuel cut BEFORE the TT tune. NEVER, in 7900 miles, and running 26 psi on C16, did it ever cut out before. SO something is def not right. I am going to get it retuned at Pruven tomorrow, I will post up the before and after Dynosheets. I feel Al tunes a little safer esp for someone like me who runs very high boost at the track, the richer AFR provides a better margin of safety. Either way, my car doesnt feel as smooth as it did before and the cutting out issue is def causing concern for me. Not trying to bash on anyone, they just have very differnt tuning methods it seems. I will let everyone know what happens tomorrow...

Sorry to hear that, why don't you pass by Turbotrix and let them look at it first.
Since the other thread was closed and my question can't be answered I thought I'd pose my question here.

And my question was...
Would an A/F ratio of 11.5-11.6 change at all with factors like high or low temps (90+ or -10 degrees F), humidity or elevation possibly causing the engine to run leaner?
You'll have to excuse my for my ignorance as I am not very mechanically inclined ....but trying to learn
I posted this in the Vishnu forum but it was not answered...mods please delete that thread

Not only is ignition timing the biggest factor in what is "safe", partial throttle mis-mapping will also spell death for any engine. I've seen a lot of reflashes (no, not from turbotrix) that attempt to run ignition timing numbers 4-5 degrees past the point of MBT. It may get a strong one pull on the dyno, but on the street it feels inconsistent and always on the verge of knock--- regardless of how rich the logs on the dyno suggest.

two of the cars i tuned ran 12.5 from al .. up top. Is that safe ??? I have all the dyno sheets with air / fuel .. which i'll post up for you to see. I did the day to help people out that were unsatisfied. If the ecu was pulling timing wouldnt it make less hp then it came in at the same boost ??? None of the boost controler were touched. Even the car with the cams did a base run before we started. Running 11.8 through a cat is about 11.5 before a cat ..

I contacted Al about just getting another mail in flash and be done with this BS, and HE OFFERED me a FREE dyno tune, I just have to pay the difference for the mail in flash which I was going to do anyway. You guys all made more power which is great, but just realize more power always comes at a cost to reliability. For you guys who never turn the boost up more then what you were tuned at, Im sure your cars will be fine if you havent had problems already like me, I would just rather have the piece of mind knowing my car is tuned safely rather then for max power #'s on pump gas, I'll save the max #'s for race gas at the track. Like I said, right now, I cant say which I feel is better. All I DO know is, I never had a reliability issue running Dynoflash, and the first day I had the TT flash, I did. I will let you guys know what I find out, first hand, tomorrow.
