my clutch was gone at 10k miles, i didnt race it or anything and mitsu blamed me and told me i would have to replace it. It cost me 1,700 dollars for a clutch which i didnt have a choice in getting because the evo is my daily driver.

They kinda already do take responsibility for the tranny. I've seen them replace my friends twice. Clutch, however is garbage un-modified. That stupid restrictor causes so many engagement problems.

Wow, what magical mitsu land does your friend live in? I'm moving there asap! Lol, just kidding. That's really cool about you'r friend being treated well. What happened to his transmissions?

Let me just confirm - you're damn right!

The money's in the bank and isn't getting it because I'm pissed at the company for placing themselves in $hit they are in, and not being smart enough to dig themselves out with good customer service. No - they need excellent customer service to get out of this one actually.

10 - 20 complaints is enough for me to see a trend here. Yes it may be a small % of all owners but unacceptable never the less.

NYREDEVO - you are a superhero for taking up this challenge

I saw some - (no way else to say this nicely) dumb a$$ negative comments from people who just don't get it, and you are hanging in there.

Fear not - alot of us get it. Its about a company being fair to its customers, backing their "best backed cars" rather than proving themselves liars, its about the members (who I see as brothers) who have gotten the short end of the stick (up the a$$).

There has been some media coverage. Autoweek Article:

http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...t_code=02612566

http://www.mulhollandraceway.org/iss...rvice_advisory

Car and Driver Sept issue pg 33 , etc.

But you are spot on NYREDEVO .
We need to shout a little louder. I don't think is hearing us - YET.

THEY WILL thanks to heroes like you.

not gonna read all the posts so if this is redundant just ignore it.

You said mitsu was teetering on going bankrupt. if this is true how on earth can you expect them to fix any **** UPs they had/have??? Thats dumb. simply they would if they could but they can't. its as simple as that. dealerships are at the mercy of the company. the company comps them anything they replace that they deem worthy. some dealerships have enough money to just fix your car and take the bill. others don't. mitsu, ford, gm, etc all only take certin responsiblity. mostly the dealerships front the bill for those cars because they make such a nice profit they don't mind. MONEY feeds the beast and unless you can get them out of the hole they are in you can't expect them to dig it deeper. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY COULD give all of you a new tranny and clutch. perhaps you should have bought a vishnu if you wanted to drive it hard for a week straight. AWD trannys are expensive hence the VR4 is gone...

I don't think I qualify as a hero first of all but thank you. Unfortunately I have not really gotten the response I thought I would get from the Evo community. It sucks b/c we should stick together. It is the only way to make big companies take notice. Mitsubishi is trying to fix it's reputation, we are giving them the chance to redeem themselves. And as far as anyone who is lucky enough to not have had any problems, that’s great but what happens if something does? Maybe it's because I am a insurance broker, I actually believe in the product I sell and it's value. It's something you hope you never use, but if you need to then the value is understood. Some people do understand though, which is good. Either way, I am going to continue to do whatever I can to make Mitsu take notice. I don't want to make problems, I want to make solutions.

And in response to hardcore tuner, I agree with you when you said that Mitsu would not fix every tranny- not because they are not fiscally capable but for 2 reasons; it's not necessary and no company would voluntarily take a hit like that. Either way there are solutions to Mitsu’s issues – a steel clutch line & a better clutch disk (Excedy told them they needed one) could remedey the problems most of us are facing. That would be the optimal solution, but I think most of us would be happy about them not threatening to deny our warranty if we put that in would make us happy. Just my 2 cents.

It almost seems like Mitsu is trying to fail.
How can they dump on their image car customers?!

Some Evo owners are being protective of the company because they have not had problems - the majority - and may be afraid of the thought of Mitsu going under - understandably where you going to get parts / resale value drops. Or some say "what if the stop bringing the car?" Wake up - Mit didn't have the ***** to bring this car - they are trying to follow Subaru.

Well - to hell with those unfortunate bastards who had clutch problems, busted tranny, transfer case, squeaky noises every where, messed up synchros, car bogging, warped rotors, white spots appear on the carbon fiber wing that grow larger and look horrible, etc.
Who cares about them?

F*&k those suckers who got their warranties voided for a cold air intake or a turbo timer because the service mgr is an idiot or for what ever other reason.

It didn't happen to me so who cares!

Too bad for that guy that got a ticket "obstructing view" for his STOCK wing and told to remove it by the presiding judge when he went to court.

USofA is a third world nation where its citizens arn't aware they have rights?! We should just lie down and take what we get?

Just because you haven't been $hit on yet you gonna say to hell with those that have been raped - its probably their own fault anyway?!

Sounds dumb a$$ - but its the ignorance I'm hearing.

That's why workers unions were formed - because individual workers could get fired / $hit on by "the man" and couldn't resolve it alone. They grumbled about paying union dues until $hit happened to them.

Wake up guys - this cause is just rallying to get better/consistent/fair customer service for ALL YOU Evo owners.
Don't wait till you have a problem too to support the cause. Stand up now to prevent it man - NYREDEVO & I have a dream - Evo owners unite.

Is it the customer's fault that MC is in a hole, and are car owners supposed to pay for it ?!
