Well I went to the dealer today to get my oil changed after work, and while I was there they decided to tell me about a new recall that came up recently. It is for the Cooling Fan Control Unit. It's just a small box attached to the fan shroud that looks like a mini ECU. They replaced mine even though mine has given me no problems, they said that Mitsu says that some Evo's have been overheating because of faulty control units. I dont have anymore info, but I think i have the part number of the controller on my receipt. I think it is:

(f) 1355A053 Control Unit

It was replaced under warranty because of recall, I was told that letters should be arriving at homes between Sept and 3 months on.

 

I guess it was just me??

 

i did a carfax on my car and i saw it too... hmmm but sorry mitsu aint touching my car unless its broken

 

I did not ask them to, they just put it on and replaced it. The mitsu I go to after work sometimes is really kool. They let me stand with them and all while they do whatever. Its just an easy way for me to get my oil changed really fast, and I dont even have to get dirty.

 

Mine is on order... warrantied.

 

It is recall #C0409Z for Lancers/Outlander to replace fan controller. I will phone my dealer tomorrow what all this means and what the defect can cause.
