I don't know if you guys are aware but they have Mitsubishi HQ right there in Cypress, CA. (only about 40 miles away from W.LA) I bet some high exec decided to take the car out for his/her ride like what I saw in last couple of years around Gardena.

I have heard from the M3 Forums that New Jersey had seen the E46 M3s
around BMW's HQ for more than 6 months before the official release.
[with New Jersey Plates as well]
Looks like the Execs can purchase these cars before they are officially released.

I will attest to that since I saw a Z8 and a Mini around BMW HQ here where I work in Montvale, NJ.
Most of the big wigs either at the Mercedes Benz or BMW HQ's around here drive either the M-series cars or the equiv. AMG-series cars.

Anyone from the Ann Arbor, MI area here? There's a Mitsu R&D center in Ann Arbor... maybe someone can stake out the center!
There's also one in Cypress, CA... is that close to L.A.? If someone saw the West Coast EVO7 maybe there's one on the east coast doing cold weather testing?

I've seen a red VII rolling around here in So. Cal at some time. They actually displayed it at parking lots of some rallies. Friends actually took some pictures. With full intercooler, my guess is that it is coming as is (that is, as I saw it). I'd rather grey-import a V any day. Of course, it's going to cost more $.

I bring good news to some of you. The EVO VII is coming to the U.S. soon. Go to the tread and read.

thatoneguy: By any chance did the guy you talked to mention if the Evo he had was going to be the US version? I'm wondering whether we'll get things like the Recaros, ACD, AYC, etc.
Thanks,
Mark

another Evo VII sighting
Saturday morning I saw a yellow Evo VII in Waterford, MI, a suburb of Detroit. I couldn't get a good look at it's licensce plate, but I assume it was a Manufacturer plate. Now I just wonder, was it a Mitsu M plate or some other manufacturer (Waterford is quite a ways from Mitsu's tech center in Ann Arbor Michigan).

I'm not sure if you guys have seen this or not.....But one of the cars you may have seen was THIS ONE
http://pub29.ezboard.com/fmirageperf...cID=2732.topic
That car was here to find ways to pass the 5ph test.......The conclusion I can reach *No hard info....just whispers in the wind like these* Is that they 1 Reinforced the front bumper so that it would crush around the intercooler or not crush.......2. Adapted a side mount IC......Im more apt to believe option 1

Rallyfreak, maybe some Chrysler R&D around where you live? Cause, Chrysler "merged" with Daimler-Benz (basically they were bought) and DaimlerChrysler has the controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motors.
