One important note. EVO took 2nd place in the SEDAN category. The "all other" category included all the exotic 2-seat sports cars.

Yup, sixth overall out of 16 cars.

Best 0-60 overall,
5th 0-100,
4th 1/4 mile time,
4th entrance to road course,
10th in 100 - 150, 10th in 150 - 0 feet, 10th in Vmax mph(see article about C&D speed readout detatchment), 4th in road course time.

If that didn't happen, they would have taken first.
Uhhhhhhhh, not quite accurate. That intercooler hose ran the entire one lap of America with no problems. This was the first time it came off, according to David. They now use a self torqing fastner that holds the boost fine.

I think I saw a post by Paul Gerrard a few days ago where he said he thought they might have been able to get into 3rd or 4th if the intercooler hose stayed on. 4th was 1.7 seconds away, 3rd was 6.6, but 2nd and 1st were 10.8 and 11.9 seconds, the last 2 being a lot of time to make up.

But you never know, Shiv might've gone for broke with a different tune on the last lap........

because there are no USDM STi's that could come close to that performance. Ya know I always hated people comparing USDM Evo and USDM STI because its just not fair. We have cams, a multitude of turbo kits, EMS (which isn't avaible to USDM sti's at the moment), stronger internals, and a proven motor. I haven't seen CAMS for the USDM STI's, or very many options to strengthen the internals. I mean we spend 5k and have well over 300whp while 5k will only get them a blown motor if the internals aren't strengthed. Stock for stock they are faster but modded they don't stand a chance against the EVO.

Also installations are a B!TCH on that engine. Have you ever tried to install cams on a boxer engine?? Ya gotta pull the whole thing(unless they is an easier way).

Last edited by Hooptie157; Oct 19, 2004 at 10:18 AM. Reason: cams you have to pull the motor not for injectors

I have done injectors on WRXs and STI more times then I can count and you don't need to pull the motor but for Cams it's a must.
