Performance wise the Caddies have definitely earned my respect.
The problem with Caddies is that.... they are still Caddies.
They are definitely making strides to improve their image though.
I wonder why there were no Porsches? RUF anyone?
wasn't that CTS, a type V? with the corvette engine in it? If that's the case, Evo_Toy needs to check himself before posting on lack of knowledge.
it's the LS-6 corvette engine. Here are some stock data for you, Evo_toy:
400 hp at 6000rpm
395 lb ft of torque at 4800 rpm
0-60mph - 4.6 sec
1/4 mile - 13.1
top speed of 163mph
Brembo brakes with 14inch rotors
Tremec T56 6 speed manual
StabiliTrak traction control
Performance tuned suspension
This is a 4 door sedan that weighs about 1000 pounds more than the EVo (3949lb)
So, I don't know why you're disrespecting this car like a fool you are.

Nowadays cars like Caddys and Benzs have come as LONGGG way...just wait until the CTS gets the ls2 motor soon.
There are STOCK SL65 AMGs runnin 11's@ 125 MPH+ in the 1/4mile that weigh in @ 4500#'s...on 91 octane gas.
Either way a EVO costtin about 50k in total price bein able to keep up or beat cars costin two or three times as much is bad a$$

The 25,000 included installation costs. Shiv had mentioned it was around 17,000 in parts in a previous thread.
The timing device stuck to the windshield came off on the first run while in this section of the race. Paul lost time trying to pick it up and fix it (he figured he'd have more runs to make up for this). However, the IC hose silicon broke up and screwed things up every run after the first. So basically they placed second in the sedan class with a jacked up run.
And the turbo they ran on this was the GT35R, but as I recall, Shiv had said that he would have rather ran the 3071 (or was it the 3037) for this contest.
Hopes this clears some questions up

If you read the article you'll see Paul was fishing around for the timing aparatus instead of concentrating on driving, which cost him time.
That was the only run they got because the intercooler hose kept popping off. They completed only one out of five runs.
They ran a 14.86 100 - 150. Comparing their 0-100 which was in the 8's to the other cars which also ran in the 8's, my guess would be the Vishnu number should be at least 2 seconds faster with additional runs, and even faster if more aggressive tuning was possible.
They were running a front air dam and the undertray, partly to lower this number
.
R32
WHat about the R32, folks? I don't want to spoil the mood, but that R32 almost matched the Evo's times (at least in a straight line). And because it ran on stock (but tweaked) suspension, it could not match the track times.
My hat comes off to the R32 because it apparently retained a lot of the daily driveability... it's definitely not a bad platform to work on. Would I buy one? Nope, I need a 4 door...
As to the 100-150mph times, a 450 or 475HP car will never beat a 700+ or 800+HP car. Ever.

the R32 did do ok, but remember, this is car had another 20k over the Evo there (a 25k turbo/engine upgrade alone). They spent good chunk more money to still fall short of the Vishnu Evo.
