05 GSR is lighter, and has the same **** except a slightly taller gearbox right???

I have a 03 and I know the MRs are better. Great, now someone tell me why an MR would beat an 05 GSR in a dragrace...!!!!!!

Edit : I also know the 05 GSR's are better... Just in case some of you want to be
I already posted that BEST MOTORING ALREADY DID THE TEST!! GO get the DVD!! It shows everything!

But I would like to agree with the majority of people. All statisitics about both the 03 and the MR are wrong. The MR is in all actuality 20 seconds slower then the 03, as well as having horrible parts made for it. This is due to Mitsubishi's new market plan to release slower cars onto the market. Its called the DeEvolution VIII MR.

This flame has been a proud message of, why do you care if one is slightly faster then the other? Atleast answer me that. Then I will go away and never look at this post again.
What are you gonna say when u spend 36,000$ on a evo. Here buy a 05 evo at 31,000$ put 5 grand into the motor, then we wont have to despute about which car is faster.

If people are planning to auto X in the stock class the MR is faster.

Okay here are the numbers, same driver, same track, different day, but they'll be as close as we can get without testing them on the same day under the same track conditions.

Motor Trend
2003 Evo VIII 0 to 60- 5.0 1/4 mile - 13.5 Slalom - 69.2 Figure8 - 25.59
2005 Evo MR 0 to 60- 4.7 1/4 mile - 13.3 Slalom - 70.5 Figure8 - 25.70

So no tests done on the 04's? I heard they have a different tune, but some say they're exactly the same as the 03's.... Sorry I keep bringing this up.

the mr is heavier and all 05's have the same hp. the evo makes power all between 3000 and 5400 rpm stock, so maybe with short gears it gets up quicker

You are not the first to ask, but send mail to Motor Trend asking for that story.
