performance + practicality + looks (i know most dont agree, but i happen to love the way the Evo looks)....this will be my car for a loooooooooong time....until the Evo X, or another Evo IX
Everything Everybody is saying bout not having this or that, there is a reason.......
WEIGHT
thats why theres no pass though seat, why theres a small gas tank, why there is no curise control, why there is no electronic trunk release, etc., etc.
the only two valid complaints are.......
1.The Taillights
2.No SAYC

1.) Clear Taillights
2.) Head unit is ugly as hell
3.) Back seat doesn't fold down
4.) Gas tank is to small
5.) Red Gauges
all in all, very minor things. most of the things on that list can be easily changed.

okay just five things.....
1)stock tails.... JDM evo VII are so much better.... thats why i ordered mine!
2)back bumper sucks...... it holds you back so much i hate it.... i am making a back cover for the car to help the air flow..... should work great.
3)the crappy clutch..... one more race left on my old one, and new clutch here i come.....
4)the stock rims..... should have made them gun metal..... they look so good on my color blue....
5)last but not lease hated, is the BOV..... it sucks, and leaks, and i hate it, that is why i am getting a MR off a totaled EVO VIII MR.....
so other things i hate, stock intake system- it needs to have a hard pipe i/c piping. having to tune the car every time you put gas in it, or atleast it feels that way.... lol..... but i love my car and it is the greatest thing on the road.....

STI's do have cruise control. This was a major selling point over an Evo for my friend who got one.
My major gripe for the Evo, the non-MR's have rediculusly stiff damping for the spring rates they have. This makes the car ride harsh but yet still have a lot body roll. The spring rates could be much higher with the damping they use and it would not really ride any more harsh, but would have less body roll.
Second gripe is that the design of the top of the front struts does not allow for camber/caster adjustment. This would have been very cheap/easy thing to make happen from the factory.

I don't own a Evo, but I have spent some time behind the wheel of a '05 MR;
1). Small gauges
2). Stock tail lights
3). Front fascia F&F looks
4).
Dealership MR mark-ups
5).
Warranty
Other than that,
Mike
