oops...wrong button
...WOULD anyone think they should listen to me. Thus I have put aside telling anyone what I know (which is good 'cuz I don't know any more than you guys now) I have instead decided to promote unsolicited opinions and go for some laughs with the bunch of you yahoos!!
I will, however, give my last little 2-cents here:
The front diff IS NOT an LSD.
End of that question.
also...funniest thing recently written: "Am I the only one horrified by this?!?"
Lastly, I would like to see a full debate on the lumen intensity of the twilight side-running lights as I see this as a really exciting feature and full of potential for debate. Thanks for all the laughs guys!!!!

Oh, and for whoever asked, there's nothing on Diamond Dealer Link for the EVO yet. Trust me, I check regularly.

they don't say for sure who is making the turbo but my best guess would be Garrett....
and by the way the 04 oz rally will not be getting a 2.7 but a 2.4 rallyart tuned 160 to 180 hp engine and they say rallyart is not coming for performance but more for cosmetic due to warranty issues.

In the Dark?

Funny, that's not what the Salespeople are being told in training. We were told about the 2.7 6-months ago and it was re-confirmed 2 weeks ago. No sense in developing it further.

It seems unlikely for a car like this to be released along side a totally redesigned Lancer sedan. Of course, it could be just a test mule with the 2.7 under the hood. I hope they don't do anything drastic, before the Lancer has at least four years on the market in more or less its current form.

I haven't heard anything about a new 2.7L and whenever the subject of the '04 Lancer comes up the changes are referred to as a "freshening" instead of a redesign. Maybe this 2.7 is destined only for the new Galant as a base motor with a redesigned 3.5 V6 for the high end Galants (and Eclipses) Again, I'm just reaching, not denying what you've heard Mark, just that we didn't hear about it in our training. If you notice the spy shot threads were GlobeCLK was sneaking onto MMSA HQ and saw the Lancer wagon, it appears to be very similar to the current Cedia wagon.

As far as the 04' Lancer re-design was concerned, we were told very directly "all-new". Now, one's definition of all-new might differ from someone else's, but I can't help but get the feeling there is some dissatisfaction with aspects of the current Lancer design.

Granted "all new" to somebody like Ford would be like the Mustang's redesign in...I think '94, from the old box body. But underneath it was and still is the same old Fox chassis from 25+ years ago. I would consider all new to be something similar, where at least 60% of the vehicle was changed, like the difference from the '99 to '00 Eclipse or '01 to '02 Montero, where the only thing that came over was the engine. Granted the Japanese market gets to have everything first, which makes the Cedia already three years old, I would think it would still be a couple more years, if not three before an all new significantly changed Lancer appears. It just depends if they are using a four or five year cycle for it. Maybe a new engine and new front and rear fascias are considered all new. But I would think the car would have appeared in the 'Vegas spy shots, but only a currently recognizble OZ can be seen.
Its pretty amazing to see how many views this post got. I will keep you guys informed as soon as I find out anything else, as for the Mitsubishi people reading these posts- sorry!! If you don't give us solid info (besides the silly "evo is coming" in your website") we will get it ourselves. thank u
Hmm, a 2.7 in a lancer?
And what is this garett turbo we're talking about. For what car?
Is it a T-25 or T-28? For the ralliart tuned lancer? I'd hope it's a T-28, the T-25 on my eclipse is a nightmare, it's pretty much running at peak efficiency right from factory. Gah, Mitsubishi's strategy, I'll never understand. Why drop your own turbos and pick up your competitor's turbos. Go get IHI's turbos then, they're pretty good.
