I'm ordering the big wing and also another painted trunk without any spoiler. I plan on using the spoilerless trunk most of the time. Stealth cars (Q-Cars) are the way to go.

S4 for that price

for 40k you can buy a new S4 and throw on a chip to push 300+hp and it will out handle and out move the EVO and do it with more class

Think again..the S4 is heavy. The Evo will outhandle AND be quicker than an S4 (even an S4 with 300hp). The S4 beats the Evo in build quality and materials though. BTW, the S4's are expensive to mod..

The US Evo8 is a bloated pig too.
Not as heavy as the S4 but it is still 3200+ lbs and that's a lot!

The specs are very similar to the Nissan 350Z. About the same weight and power is similar.

The new Audi S4 should be quicker than the stock US Evo but then again, the S4 is a lot more expensive. THe S4 has a much nicer interior though

The new S4 coming out is not 40K..it's higher. I'm talking about the '00-02 S4 V6 bi-turbo. It's 250hp and they are still 30k+ for a nice used one...nice car though

The S4 is about 3600lbs and has a stock 0-60 time of about 6.4sec.

the '04 V8 S4 is supposed to have 340+ horses, a considerable offset for the 400 extra pounds it carries over the porky new 265 horse EVO...

and just think Audi makes a nifty set of twin turbos that will bolt onto your new V8 S4 in case you crave a bit more power

Yes, but he was talking about the '02 S4 which doesn't compare performance wise.
BTW, the new upcoming '04 S4 will be about 50k and will be 84lbs heavier than the current S4. There are quite a few Audi lovers that are not thrilled with the cost and increased weight of the '04. It is said to have a 0-50 of around 5.2-5.5sec while the US Evo should be around 5.0. And the US Evo will outhandle the S4. Have you ever driven an S4 on the track? It is nothing special...it is way to heavy. They are two totally different cars..the S4 isn't as focused on performace as the Evo. Remember the Evo has big Brembos, stiff suspension, sticky tires, stiff chassis, quick steering, etc. that would help it whip the S4 at the track stock vs. stock

My EVO Order

hiyas.

I just sent in my deposit for a JDM EVO VIII with some after market mods that will keep the 1 year warranty...

Although I do not know how much it will weigh... The GSR model with sunroof and large spoiler will deliver approximately 350 HP per Adam at EI.

It has the 6 spd manny and the AYC and ACD that the USA Evo will not have... Considering the "tight supply" of the first US EVOS... I figure I won't be paying all that much more for alot more car.

I'll post more when I know more. The car should be ready for me to drive away in early April.

Slightly more than 10k OVER the price of a US Evo?! To each his own..but why pay over 10k more for ayc/acd, and a 6-speed? The US version is only 9hp less and lacks a few things that would affect reliabilty.
Hope you have fun and like your $40-45,000 Evo. I'll probably have just as much fun with my under $30k US Evo

accurate numbers

Hi, I own a 2001 Audi S4. I paid $28K six months ago. I also added APR's Stage I kit (chip only) for $599--this produces 318hp and 382 lb.-ft. of torque. The Stage III kit is $5900 (expensive) but it yields 412hp and 482 lb-ft. of torque. This would likely require replacing the clutch too.

Broeli,

I learned a long time ago, you get what you pay for. I want the best. I'll pay for the best. You can do whatever makes you happy. This car will make ME happy.

Enjoy!

PS.. When you also figure that I will pay no Dealer Prep, no Dealer Transportation, No Dealer Advertizing add-ons and all their other crappola and no sales tax...... I think my deal is quite good.
