The center cartridge is the same between the 03-04 and 05, meaning the compressor wheel and turbine wheels are the same. The 05s have a different compressor housing and turbine housing.

Zo -

I suggest you use the 'search' feature of our board.

I'm not trying to be rude, but there is a lot of info if you just do a search.

I've been doing that for months now and I've gotten some useful info about the car.

BUT - beware - take what you read with a grain of salt and do research on you own. Talk to some of the local tuners - car guys - whatever.

It's such a fun car.

I can't wait till track season!!!

What octane are you using? How about doing a bone stock 05 EVO with 91 octane then add your flash and MBC with 91. I think you are getting good numbers because you can take advantage of the higher octane fuel along with more timing and boost. I do not think people in California will see those results.
Hmmm...He won't answer the question. Maybe that is why people here in California do not like Dynoflash. It is because they cannot duplicate the same results unless high octane fuel is used and the timing is bump up.

I wonder if all EVO's are tuned from the factory to run on 91 gas for safety. Then the guys back east put 93 or 94 in the tank, get a flash and then wow what a difference in power!

That's why I'd like to see AFR's posted with the dyno results as well.

Octane rating would be very beneficial too.

You can make great numbers on a dyno - but out on the street/track - a tune that's on the edge could be dangerous.

I have a conservative tune on my M3 that is bulletproof on the track.

I want to start tracking the Evo. Once I have a few laps under my belt I'll start thinking about adding power.

Once of my first mods will be an ECU upgrade.

If you want to see some a/f ratios on our tunes go look at the dozens and dozens posted in the Dyno Flash section - and pay pariular attention to the 23 so called "case study" threads where I provide a blow by blow description of my tuning process

BTW - my a/f's usually run about 11.1 - 11.3 /1 - on the rich and safe side

This car on this thread was tuned on 93 octane pump gas - and winter mix that which has less octane than our summer blend

I have tuned a LOT of cars on 91 octane and my flash is able to make very good power on the 91 ocatne fuel as well

Here is a dyno sheet just posted in the Dyno Flash section yesterday by a customer - 91 octane fuel in Utah at high elevation - a very nice lopoking dyno sheet for a through the mail tune

If you get a reflash can the dealership tell that you had that done? if so can you get a reflash back to stock without them knowing?

On the 03 and 04 there is NO way for the dealer to know if there is a flash or not

On the 05 they can tell as OBDII for 05 supports a "CVN" number which identifys the stock tune and any deviation will be noted

The good news is that once I flash it back to stock - which is free - there is NO trace left what so ever and no way for them to tell it was ever flashed
