I had my windshield cracked by a stone during my last trip.
Now I will have to replace it.

How much does it cost?

I never saw a normal Lancer before. Does the Lancer windshield fits in the EVO8?

Does the EVO8 windshield fits in my EVO7?

Any help I would appreciate

 

You don't have to get mitsu glass. You can find a wind shield for about $150-$200 depending on the place.

 

If you have glass coverage on your insurance, you just pay your deductible for a new windshield. If you don't have glass coverage you may want to reconsider if you get a lot of rock chips. Call a windshield replacement shop and find out how much it will cost if you don't have glass coverage on your insurance. AFAIK, a regular Lancer windshield is the same as an EVO windshield.

 

I don't know how much truth there is to it but I read in a post on here one day that the Evo windhield is lighter than the regular lancer. Like I said that is just something I read in a post but hopefully someone will be able to confirm either way. I had a rock chip mine a couple of weeks ago so I guess I need to repair it before it gets worse.

 

The Evo has a light weight glass windshield, it is special. Call your insurance agent to find out about your coverage. Full coverage policies will usually pay after the first $50 on windshilds and will often waive that if you have it repaired and not replaced. Many glass companys will pay this deductable up to $50 so the net to you is 0. The good companys use oem glass.

 

Yes lancer, evo 7 and 8 will fit. Is your 7 LHD? If not the masking on the window is different.

 

I'm pretty sure windshields are covered by insurance or somthing, I know down here in florida you can say debree on the highway flew up and cracked it and they cover it.

 

Evo 8 windshields are about $500 from the dealership. It matters on wether your car is LHD or RHD on if the Evo 8 windshield will work properly.

The Lancer windshield should work for you. It's the side and rear windows on the Evo that are thinner / lighter on the US Spec version. The front windshield still needed to be "thick" because of DOT / NHTSA requirements for passenger protection.
