EVO + snow?
You wont necessarily need snow tires...chains neither...unless the snow conditions are very extreme that is...or if you need excellent snow traction..
Im running Contiextreme contacts (hp all seasons) & just went through the 7 inch blast we got last week just fine...Up steep hills, braking down hills, etc...Will it provide you with outstanding snow traction?...no, definitely not. But it will get you from point A to B just fine..just gotta be easy on the throttle & brake...basically, just use your head.

the yoko advans suck in the snow they get like a block of ice and you cant stop. putting snow tires on the car makes a world of difference. i chose to put the blizzak lm-22 but if the dunlop winter sport m3 were available i would have used them. hope that helps!
Snow tires are the way to go...My cheap *** drove last year with the stock advans on and now I have two scraped up rims from sliding off the road.
I have the Michilin Artic Alpins and it is a blast to have traction in the slick stuff. BTW, you can still break the back end loose and do some drifting with the snow tires too.

You drove in Michigan without snow tires!?!? WOW I am impressed.
You should at least think about all seasons if your going anywhere with much more than a 1" of snow OR any ice when using the stock Advans I wish you luck.

Yeah I have falken all-season tires.. gave up a little (not much) in dry handling, but its now pleasant to drive in snow and other foul weather.. If you have to deal with really deep snow (7+ inches) on a regular basis, or dense packed snow, then get dedicated snow tires.. But I have to admit, I was really worried about this car in the snow after my first bad experience with the stock tires.. Now that I have aftermarket wheels and all season tires, I feel it can tackle all but the worst weather.
i now have a carbon fiber hood and jdm mr headlights on my mr w/ 2k miles thanks to using advans first snow. hit jeep w/steel bumper, just would not stop. bad feeling while abs not doing anything. have conti extreme contacts on my '03. they work nice and are still fun. also they smoothed out the ride
