Exhaust ticket
I live in a beachfront community in SoCal that has 10 times as many cops as it needs. There is very little crime here. The police are just tax collectors. The entire city has underposted speed limits. Lots of 25 mph zones. I have watched a cop hide in a driveway on my block and hand out tickets for rolling stops in a place where there is no danger whatsoever. The city I live in will keep hiring cops, as long as they can write enough tickets to pay their own salary and benefits, and leave some revenue for the city.
If I had a real emergency, these bozos wouldn't even look up from their donuts and coffee. Don't look for respect from me.

I agree Texas has a gay *** 65 mph night time speed limit on the F*cking interstate. Give me a f*cking break. Talk about a revenue machine. I saw 5x the people pulled over in Texas as anywhere else. Are the streets any safer? Hell no they aren't just a waste of my tax money. Down with Texas the gayest state ever
Anyhow now that I'm done ranting... I think cops can be good but not as tax collectors. Talk about a worthless job. Waiting on pop update for the Valentine 1 to detect instant on

first off go and get your self a db meter $40. @ radio shack hand it to the police when they hand you the ticket... there are no laws (in Cali) on how to test the noises made from a vehicle - yes it supposed to be 90-95db but @ what rmp how far away from the car/exhaust you get the idea... Listen I have gotten 5 fixit ticket (in 2 months) for exhaust noise and the truth is I understand they have a job to do but when I have to go and take 2 or 3 hrs from my life/job to get my ticket signed off it sucks.... BTW my fu**ing Harley is 100X louder than my EVO never got a ticket on it... P.S. I do respect your line of work... SmoknEVO but come on
See you guys need to read I said it was unprofessional of him and i didnt agree wih the way he treated him didnt i. And yes you call it harass, I call it breaking the law, we dont write the laws we just enforce them. You cant follow a simple law. Now have i ever written a ticket for this no, will i probably not.
Yes we do get paid but when was the last time a garbage man put his life on the line for another person he did not know. Why when gun shots ring out everyone runs away, but cops run towards them. You can not compare our job to any other outside law enforcement.
As law enforcement we can only do as much as the tax payers allow in there was more money there would be more cops and less crime.
And by no means should a cop be rude to someone unless i was the only way to get them to comply. I have never once said that cop was right.
As far as you exhaust goes, it is not from an idle it as at any point in the rpm range and the law says we dont have to have a machine to write the ticket.
Topout i agree with you and it is a high stress job and like i said if there were more cops more things would get done. Did you know in Richmond last weekend there were 10 cops on duty and 942 calls waiting to be responed to. Do the math is is hard to get everyone and that suck for you and for me.
And we recover thousands of car every year so dont ask stupid questions. Ask yourself this if there were no cops where would you be right now?

cops are cops. there are bad cops and there are good cops. some will serve and protect while others are just plain in the buttock. i had more tickets back in the days of my riced out civic then anything else. i think it has to do with the type of car that u drive and who u are. this one old fat white cop gave me a a ticket for no front license plate and while hes doing that, 50 percent of the other cars were driving by with no front license plate. i wasnt speeding so they had to get me on something else.
It's funny how many people talk **** about cops online. If y'all truly mean what y'all say here, why not say it when you run into a police officer to really get your point across instead of hiding behind your computer?

On what scene? Traffic or a real incident where there is a complainant, suspect, reportee and witness? Cause when I'm talking about call out, I mean call out the officer you don't like where people can see ala the internet with profanity and all.

Once I was driving home from work around 2am in my Toyota Spyder - a cop pulls me over (wasn't speeding). I roll down the window, he walks up and realizes that I am in my suit with my brief case. He goes "oh" and is silent for about 5 seconds. Finally, he says "uh, you don't have a front license plate." It dawned on me later that he probably was looking for a young punk to harass (the missing front license plate being the "excuse"), but didn't expect someone attired in a suit. May be he had a line ready but had to change after he saw me. There's a lot of profiling suspected to be going on with LAPD - I know of current studies and investigations to determine how police officers "select" people.
I used to live in Arcadia, CA a few yrs ago.....got about 4 tickets in a span of 61/2 yrs. One was for speeding in a school zone....going like 35mph instead of 25. The cop was hiding in the bushes! damn! I didnt see him until it was too late. Had a freakin radar gun pointed at me. Next doing a rolling stop in pasadena, this was rediculous. Why da hell do I need to make a complete stop? No one does that! 3rd one was driving w/out front plate, got a fixup ticket.....$10.
The 4th time was "DRIVING W/ MY PARKING LIGHTS ON!!!!" this was the MOST ***in annoying ticket I got. I had sleepless nights w/ this ticket. Once I got the ticket in the mail it was around like $250!!! I was like WTF??!!! I aint gonna be paying this ****!!! *** that cop. So i fought it in court & WON!!!! judge tells me next time dont turn on your parking lights until you are parked!!! stupid!!! It was summertime around 7pm....very sunny day...I think its true thy do RACIAL PROFILING.....I guess if you're white & cop is too, most likely you wont get a ticket unless you really did something wrong. All the cops that pulled me over were white. RACIAL PROFILING!
