At least take solace in the knowledge that you don't drive a car that will be a dime a dozen in a few months. Those Mustangs will be everywhere and will subsequently lose their "hotness." But how many Evos do you see on a regular basis...thats one of my favorite things about owning and Evo.

 

yeh everytime I see the new mustang, it become uglier and uglier.

i have to admit it looks good in black tho. but i can not believe they got a 70's green look. Plus Hot Rodding magazine was commending the live axle for how high tech it is.

 

Simple math. Ford probably has a bigger budget to spend placing ads in the magazine than Mitsu.

 

I really like that Dodge Magnum RT. Supposedly Dodge is releasing an AWD Magnum RT soon...if they haven't done so already. With some simple exhaust work that thing would be a drag strip beast. Hemis come alive like you wouldn't believe once you let them breathe a little easier.

I don't mind the new, or old depending on how you look at it, Mustang. It looks good in photos and in person too. Is a reasonable performer, and is relatively inexpensive. If it's my money I'd go with the Evo, it's a sharper more focused car. Different strokes for different folks, besides how fun would it be if everyone drove an Evo?

 

reason # 238 why i dont bother reading road and track. i dont want to be know as one of the guys that picked the mustang over the porsche, or the scion at all for that matter. i can see the pimpled 15 yr olds stacking the vote now.

 

ok ok im gonna put my "amatuer" road and track, car and driver, whatever opinion on this matter. What car fought with the evo back and forth earlier when the comp was close...the STi right? Well the STi had 300 hp and 300 lb/ft and hit 60 in 4.8 (to appeal to the straight line american in all of us) the stock evo did it in 5.0 (the '03 GSR) in every comparo the evo won, better handling, and quicker track times. THE EVO WON against a car more sophisticated than the live axel rustang based on a body design from the 60's (three ford guys at work: "Hey jimbo whut shuld wee deu todayee? Chevy made that bayad *** SSR [which looks like a pandas ******* painted purple] chrysler made that pt Cruiser and Mid life crisis men and soccer moms own em both...LETS MAKE A CURRR FOR US OLDn'S!!!!" YEEEHAW!!!"...meanwhile the other two ford guys were watching dukes of hazzard and drinking bud light) Anyway the Sti would murder a mustang in every way shape and form, and the evo beats the STi, so why even put the freakin Fat body, heavy axle, 0-60 in 5.2, inneficient v8 crap in the same league...(sorry im passionate about this) And finally what is going on with car manufacturers? If i want nostalgia im not gonna glu vacume tubes on my computer's case nor will i put retro engineering and styling on something that in a technologically advanced world will use 30 year old technology with some LED's and 30 year old styling.
