Mustang is better than EVO???

, I wanna puke.... but atleast someone rearended her today
mean I know but this B!tch was asking for it with someof her comments over the last year
I used to own a mustang GT before I bought my 05 GSR. For me, the EVO is great since I have to deal with snow and carting more than one person around. On the other hand, occasionally I miss my mustang. Dont get me wrong, my evo is awesome, and there isnt a car I would rather have for the money right now. But my mustang was a lot of fun to drive, just in a different way than the evo.
Some of you guys need to get off the whole "american cars are inferior" complex. Its obnoxious. Do you honeslty think Ford is incapable of building an engine/chassis close to that of the EVO? Were not talking about sending a spaceship to Mars here, its a figgin car. Its not about technology, or know how....its about COST and POTENTIAL BUYER DEMOGRAPHICS. Those who hate would be shocked to see what the big three have behind their walls. They are slow to implement because either it costs too much or they feel their current customer demographic would not sufficiently appreciate this new technology. 99% of those who complain about american cars being too "low tech" have absolutely no clue how car compaies operate.
The reason the big three don't have DOHC cams in every car, and sophisticated AWD, ultrastiff chassis, etc is that their research shows they wont have a significant enough increase in sales to offset the cost. They cater to what buyers want, not force it down their throughts. If people woke up tomorrow and decided they only want high tech ulta-nimble cars to rocket around in, GM, Ford, and DCX would change their ways FAST. Its about pleasing the shareholders, not selling the most advanced cars they can build. And that goes for EVERY car company.
Anyways, I would bet the new mustang is pretty fun to drive. Does it have the same track prowess as the Evo? OF course not. Does it handle as well? No. Is it faster than an Evo in a straight line? Prolly not. But i think its a cool car. And a lot more Americans will confirm that when the stang outsells the Evo and STI combined this year, even if they werent limited production.
Stangs are a hell of a lot of fun to drive, as are a lot of other american and foreign cars, and isnt that the point of owning an enthusiast car? Having fun? I think we should be ripping on the huge SUV owners personally. Stop hating and go enjoy your cars.

Mustangs will always outsell the EVO due to the massive amount of mustang rental cars. I actually like the fact that the Mustang and even the Neon are becoming more competitive.
It seems like everyone forgets that the more these car companies improve and compete against each other.. the better car we get for a decent price as consumer. Hell make the Neon or Mustang or whatever fast as hell.. even make it handle good. Then in 2-3 years the next car I buy will be even better in response to that Neon or Mustang.

[QUOTE=nasti]Heh so you say this when a ford is picked over mitsu, but then in SCC mag you don't realize the same exact thing is going on when they pick mitsu 2 years running? Any magazine, unless it doesn't rely on advertisement money from cars they compare, is going to be biased one way or another based on who gives more money to them.
Exactly my point. Glad you read the post. Please DO NOT assume that I don't think that the import mag guys are just as bad.
These magazines simply cater to the demographic groups to whom they market.

I mean really, bias or not there's plenty more Mustang enthusiasts then there ever will be Evolution enthusiats in America. The Mustang is going to appeal to everybody from kids, to teens, to secretaries to seniors, to babyboomers and almost every demographic in between. The Evo has no chance of winning in a popularity contest against the Mustang. But when it comes time to tally up the test scores and crunch some hard numbers - well, you know...
Besides - all of those internet poll deals and reader's choice things like this and Spike's upcoming Autorox - they still have to make a "show" out of it. So I suspect if things don't turn out "right" to make a watchable program to please the network execs and sponsors, they just pad and fill in as they see fit until it does.
Who cares, really.
