Valentine 1 Mounting Question
I have mine mounted similar to Vanilla Sky but I've always let the wire dangle. Is there much to concealing it behind the scenes? Do you just wedge the wires in the edges or do you actually do a partial removal of some parts like the A pillar cover and put the wires completely behind it?
ok, ive been meaning to ask this.
1. I have mine mounted just to the driver side of the rear view mirror and just below the mirror. I put it here because it is clearly in my site without blocking my view. When i "get on it" from slow speeds, the lasar detector goes crazy. EVERYTIME. I can't fathom this, anyone else have this problem?
2. How do you guys see the thing mounted on the passenger side? One of the biggest reasons i went with the v1 was because how much it lights up when it picks up a radar...it really catches your attention.

Do you guys think the V1 can be hard wired to the power in the light(by sunroof switch) and have the V1 stuck to the windshield left of the rearview mirror? That is how my bro and his friends have thiers mounted in BMW's.
Let me know what you guys think?

I still recommend the lighter socket, you could just as easily tap a different (however, much more IMPORTANT) wire under the dash though. Any switched power will do.
Dunno if I recommend fuse taps... eek.

Sorry for the ignorance with some of this.
The only time I had to mess with fuses is with older systems in previous cars.
Here's an old thread that has how I wired mine and where it's mounted.

just buy a fusetap from Pepboys it was 9dollars. I then just plugged it into the accesory slot and it worked like a charm. the hardest part was finding a good negative, I would recommend getting a volt meter that way you can test everything as you are doing it. this way you are protected by a fuse, and the fuse that V1 sends with the unit.
its super simple I did the whole thing in about an hour!
