looking at buying a evo mitsu said it had record of a boost controller
Have the dealer call the rep to see if they will give you the warranty and if they do give it to you get it in writting before buying. If not and you still want the car tell them $3000 or $4000 cheaper than what they are asking. So if you have problems that would be the money to fix it. But your best bet would be a different car with the warranty.
I have no clue how they know they told me the car hasnt been in for any warranty work or anything like that. The car actually has a little more done to it just they didnt have it documented. I know it has a bigger fmic, intake and its lowered. My guess it went in for some scheduled maintence and they discovered some parts. If I had the car back to stock and something went wrong I would probably be sol as for a warranty i guess? I think I may be able to get the car for around 18-19. I just hope it wasnt beat to **** with 15,000 miles it looks like its in good shape
I also looked up a car fax and it showed being serviced about every 3,000 miles up till what its at now. And there computer at the dealer says pop off valve whatever that is and boostcontroller.
i wouldn't buy ANY turbo car from a "used car place". u don't know how beat up it got b4 he got it. then he beat it up cuz he never drove one. NOW you're buying it. steer clear my friend unless you know how to tear down & rebuild motors.
You know... I bought mine used. Learned all the dirty little secrets and am glad I have the patience to take time and dig through every nook and cranny to learn everything about the car. Took almost almost 900 and a span of a month or so to fix things to my liking. Then again, for the price I paid for mine, I can't complain all that much... Got a SS clutchline, rear strut tower bar, leftover apexi TT harness, road rashed rims, and a bunch of broken/missing plastic clips out of the deal for way under wholesale... So the choice is yours... If you think it's an acceptable risk, then go ahead, but not without a mechanic you trust giving it a once over before you buy it. Speaking of which, if you do the carfax report on it, there's a service that will send out a mechanic to inspect the car for free... You might want to exhaust that option if you really want that particular EVO... Anyway, good luck...
