I have seen pictures of those 18 wheelers sinking in Canada, lots of $$ down the drain.

INTERESTING FACT: Ice is actually stronger than concrete.

But like they said you gotta watch out for ice shoves and fishing holes. done under the right conditions its fun as hell. I love how every car in ice pic is of a subaru. i guess the wrx is learning to swim. Maybe they need to start making an STI-amphibious edition

here in hawaii, the subie guys like to drive on the sand; i haven't gone and join them yet, sand is so hard to get out of your car. anyway, ice racing looks like fun, i read about it a year ago in car and driver.
anyway, any chance to go all out in an evo is bound to be fun. just hope you don't ever have to explain to your insurance company what your car is doing in the middle of a lake

true story. a couple of guys are out driving around on a frozen lake looking for a fishing spot in their new truck, hit a bad spot and are lucky to escape alive, but their truck is not so lucky. owner tells the insurance co. that his truck was stolen and he gets his claim paid. about a year and a half later, a diver runs upon the sunken truck and the authorities are called to pull it out. they find the keys still in the ignition. wham! insurance fraud.

I thought that people in Canada often fall through areas of thin ice on lakes which can barely be seen because of snow on top. How do you know you won't hit an area with thin ice?
