Toasted ACT Clutch disc? or not

My TC has the worn out bearings issue. So i dont wanna risk dumping the clutch at high RPMs, so i raced my friends 240 with a sr20det swap. I did a 5k rpm quick slip but still burnt my 2 month old ACT HDSS clutch. During the race i could smell it STRONG. I let it cool off for a while and let it sit overnight, woke up drove it about 50mi, and smelled the bay and i smelled it still but wasnt as strong. Its been 3 days and i dont smell it anymore. HOw bad could the damage be? I know the clutch is ceramic so i know it can withstand high heat, but..?
LoOk kAKa (10:57:50 PM): i thought that was it

Ouch! That sounds like the first time I burnt my stock EVO clutch. I smelled it for about 2 days. But it lasted me 40k.

i fried my act clutch on half slip at 6000 rpm (didn't disengaged fully due to master cylinder adjustment). everything is good, didn't even smell anything.

you shouldn't quick slip with your clutch, you should long slip. it'll be safer.

i don't smell my clutch at all when i launch now. But I don't do the 5000 rpm slip, i do 3500 rpm, works just as well.

It's not ceramic if you have the HDSS. The street disc (any street type disc) uses a resin that binds the friction material together. Overheat the clutch and the resin melts, and becomes more like a lubricant (so it will slip even worse) and will stink really bad. The ceramic will not smell near as bad or not at all.
