ya u can, the filtering quality sucks. Your best bet in terms of quality and filtering is Apex'i hands down. If you wanna see for yourself go here: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/index.html

I dont like k&n filters either or any other oiled filter for that matter, cuz some of that oil contaminates the MAF (thats if your running a MAF) if not, then its ok to run an oiled filter.

I can't speak first hand about APS, but they make some quality stuff. The design of their intake looks like they actually did some research and development as opposed to just marketing a generic cone filter. Have you seen their Intake Manifold. Holy Sh... that thing is a thing of beauty!

Well I still cant see why anyone would like to SUCK all of the hot air from under there hood.
Talk about loss of power..... I have the APS intake and this thing makes more power than all
of them . It takes its air from under the fender.Mark for Turbo Trix was very impressed.
I made an average of 5 more hp with the APS than all of the filters that suck hot air
from under the hood.

Dont get me wrong, the APS intake is a great piece, i was just speakin in general. My only warning is that if u go with any cold air intake, BEWARE OF THE PUDDLE. i found this out first hand in my old '99 SI.

I have it and when I put my stocker on for testing I could feel the power loss. The intake is a nice unit and seems to do a good job. Al didn't like it at dynoflash because he didn't tune them before, but I think they are just fine.

HMmmmm sounds like some more irratic tuning horsesh%t to me Any one can see that Fresh COOL Intake air is better than any HOT underhood trapped air. Oh I forgot on a dyno the car is basically sitting still with whatever air is in the room at whatever the ambient temp is plus the heat of the engine. In the real world where the denser air is moving ,in the APS intake case under the car where the air is cooler (heat rises) is a whole different story Any one who claims to be a tuner would agree with my statement. Where was my intake on my Grand National located??? On the lower left bumper extention. The car went High 12s from 13.3s with that mod alone..

tx 4 ur replies guys. I acutaly did see the INtake system and what it was made out of at GRD in naperville, IL. and the intake looks real good i like the material because it looks like the piping cant heat up plus I like the idea of the water tank i think that helps 2 and its been tested that the piping and the tank that holds the water cant heat up.
