They couldn't get the car out because I0 I had a truck parked behind the Evo and 2) I was sitting less than 20 feet away from the car when this was going on. I'd have been from the living room to the garage before they could have gotten it started and in gear.

I am waiting for the day this happens to me. My dogs hear everything, and just let them at the person. It wouldn't be pretty but at least the dogs will have some fun. Akita for the upper torso and the Cocker for the lower

Had a witness come forward. He's a local neighborhood kid. There were three 16-17 year olds walking up and down the street taking pictures of various cars and houses. When the finished their business, they made a phone call and a car comes around the corner, they jump in and are off.

you can put a siren with built in backup battery under the hood infront of the air box to the left of the ic spray bottle or you could always have it mounted under the dash or somewhere else under a plastic pannel inside the car... great thing about the backup battery kits now is that the built in siren can't be turned off without a key and they're solid enough where a thief would have a really hard time breaking one into multiple pieces. Even if they cut it out of your car they can only throw the box so far and wherever it lands it's going to wake someone up.
wait... you live in texas... can't you just shoot them all

Why do they even have to put a siren in ? cant they just instal it to the cars horn ? i don't see why not. Ford And GM install panics to the Horn my old truck had no siren just installed to the horn. I dunno just a thought for your space issue i could be really wrong.
sorry to hear about that man... sounds like a wierd racket they got going on down there... never heard of it...
get two sirens... why two??? well... you need one to mount out by the bumper so it's loud outside... the second, mount behind the dash... those things are loud as hell, and if they're going off inside the car, who's going to want to try pissing with the wires for the ignition or stereo when you have that piercing sound screeching through, and trapped inside the interior as well???
next, get a Sig Pro .357sig cal (or Glock w/ that cal)... say you went out to check what was going on, one or more of the ppl said "you're going to die", made an approach at you with something in their hands or made an abrupt move inside their jacket or hoodie. and you shot them... and remember to say, "I shot them because I felt I was in Apprehension of my life"...
