Yes, hopefully rival car companies will push each other. Mitsubishi's efforts have been weak. I'm sure they can do better than that. The have to take risks. Finally, they bring the Evo here...but still...it's a little incomplete as far as options go.

At the last Rim of The World Rally for example...Mitsubishi's marketing and promotion seemed half baked. Sure they brought an Evo7 in, but that's it... Nothing to really back it up.

I think they're doing a much better job now... 2 of their cars are in Fast and the Furious 2, they now have a factory backed rally team, and they're bringing Ralliart to the United States... pretty good stuff. I don't like the Fast and the Furious, but it's definately a good marketing strategy for the company.

I honestly believe the reason MMNA didn't bring ACD was mainly due to cost. They wanted to keep the car under $30K. I wish it has a front diff too, but based on the UK brochures, the RS didn't even have a front diff.

acd, ayc,,,,,,,,,hell 98% of the time i wont be driving the car that hard to use the ayc,,,,,,,as for acd, well isnt that just the road surface your driving on??????

a six speed, on a turbo?????? the first 2 gears in the evo8 are tall allowing to be in the boost range longer.

mine is going to be a white,black,silver,,,sunroof..spoiler removed.

and will be the funnest car i have ever owned, and i dont care what has 30 more hp/tq coming out next month-week-year.

for holly **** this car is suppose to do 0-60 in under 5 seconds.....that is fast as ****, if you choose to get on it.

even if it was half a second higher 5.5 is what any sports sedan would die to say they have.

this forum needs an enema, young kids.

Yup, like I said...some people don't need it, but in the hands of a good driver, they are very useful tools. AWD alone will make it a good drive...but the tools will enhance the drive...even in snow, dirt...or whatever the elements can dish out.

I sense some inferiority complex here... I wouldn't be afraid of the STI, if any. The Evo8 is a great machine: it is a driver's car to say the least. And with RalliArt here, it would make up for Mitsubishi's meager, if not half baked efforts into the driver's car.

It would be sad if this turned out to be another Clubsi board, rather than something productive. Then again, I bet over half of the people in this board are kids. They'll just drag it rather than really use the car's full potential.

I dont plan on drag racing my Evo at all. However a little street race will be fun especially if its against a new STI. I am hopeing to open the intake and exhaust and a good chip. Maybe the 2.2l stroker kit as well. I think that with 255 45 zr 17s and the few mods ive listed Ill get as close to a bozz speed evo as possible on my budget. I know its all about how the car handles and its not a dragster. I want it for the .96G pad more than anything. I just think its a waist not to at least give the thing exhaust intake and a chip.

Well, since Subaru released a NA only version, who's to say Mitsu won't release a NA version also. Wouldn't a factory 2.2 certainly be exciting? Y'know, y'never know.

Erik in LA

P.S. NA means North America, not naturally aspirated.

I don't see that happening, since they already have the US Lancer. Besides, Mitsubishi doesn't take risks...

I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I meant maybe they'll have a 2.2 North America only, factory stroker engine for the Evo

Ummm...2.2 L , with increased volume-titanium-alloy-impeller turbo, gas-direct-inject, six speed ?(but, as the people who KNOW wtf they are talking about pointed out...sixth speed would be nice just to top off the 5, just to add to the top end and for good mileage on interstate hauls, keeping the tall ratios in the lower gears as they are), double friction upgraded metal-alloy clutch, reliable ACD and AYC, and ... of course, the hydraulic, cockpit-adjustable (both pitch and height) wing.

competition is good.
