That's the funny part... everyone always talks about this power advantage... WHAT power advantage? Oh, yea, on paper!

Subbie claims 300hp...they put down 233whp.
Mitsu claims 275hp... they put down 239whp.

Advantage? Mitsu.

Liar? Subbie.

True, but at what RPM? Thats the difference.

Refer to the Motortrend article where the Evo put 239whp down, to the STi's 233whp.

And if they're making changes to the STi to improve the handling, what do you think happens when they make the SAME changes to the Evo?

Good luck Subbie fans!

HUH!?!?

That's NOT a HP reading at a certian RPM, that's MAX POWER from a Dyno RUN!

RPM means nothing there.

I'd rather have that horsepower at 3500 rpms than at 7000 rpms

MBC and ecu flashed EVO > STI on all tracks, plus if they kept the stock Advans I bet the EVO would have walked away like every other mag test.

That's true, but I think Subbie's max power came on at 6200rpm and the Evo's was 6500rpm or something like that.

Both power curves were pretty close.

In Europe and Japan both the Evo and STi are 2 liter motors. I think that Subaru cheated by putting a 2.5 liter boxer motor in the STi they brought to the States.

Hear that? Cheated!

Cheater cheater cheater! You cheat!

From now on I only want to see STi dyno charts in which the #1 spark plug wire has been pulled, because cheaters never win!

the second article was written with one purpose in mind. To appease Suburu and their owners. They handicapped the Evo by providing it with new and inferior tires to our stock Advans and for the track run, they chose a less technical track where handling wasn't as big a factor.
