EVO vs STI in Reliability, Modding, Plain out which car?

The engine is pretty solid, and most knowledgable engine guys know the limits of the 4G63 pretty darn well. Unless you do something wrong to it or it is just a lemon, the engine should be fine for up to 450 whp.
With high power, the most common things you will break are driveline parts...clutches,TCs, trans, etc. But, if you dont launch youre car like crazy and abust it, they should be OK. There are a lot of fast evos out there with absolutely NO problems whatsoever

Maybe I wont be doing as much modding as I thoght I was going to

Man. If you do it the right way, you won't have any problems. Just do stage upgrades from your choice vendor. U aren't going to run into problems with much. Now, know this, the more you change the car from stock, the more likely you are to have small issues with things such as boost leaks and things like that. But, i have a feeling you are a ways away from having the money to mod the hell out of it. Just do what i have done and you will be perfectly happy with completely stock driveability and a perfectly reliable EVO.
and learn to drive it nicely.

Even if you leave youre car bone stock, you will have SO MUCH FUN with it, it should almost be a crime. And if you decide to mod, you can keep the stock turbo and stock controller and the car will be very reliable as long as its a good product and you take care of it. Dont think you have to do anything right away. Just get the evo first, then take some time and figure out what youre realistic plans are.
Its youre choice, but you cant go wrong even with a stock evo.
Why would stage upgrades make a difference?
Well the problem is I dont live near any of the places at all, so some of the places here might mess things up. Also, I'm not going to act like I know a lot about cars, I don't so I'm gonna have to learn a ton. I was already looking into Vishnu stage 1 Plus, and a few other little mods, how much HP / TQ are you running? Also, What clutch are you or are you planning to run?

I think a lot of people overlook the importance of ABS. I had to get on the brakes pretty hard today and laid down about 200 feet of rubber trying to avoid rear ending someone that turned out right in front of me while I was going 55. The control of the car was amazing but if I didn't know what I was doing I could have easily hit the idiot. Food for thought.

Edit: add:
If you look closely though, you will notice that most of the stages from different vendors are similar and follow a pretty established path. This is good, which indicates that most people agree on the proper way to upgrade the car. Most start out with exhaust, a boost controller and some tuning. Then some intake stuff, IC stuff, fuel pump, cams, and onward.

Now, in regards to dealers, warrany, etc...its liek they have said, depends on the dealer....lucky for me my dealer is cool...my car has HKS CB and DP....and they have never told me anything when i take it for the oil changes check up ( pit pass), etc....but i know poeple that they have taken teh car for oil changes and ****, and they have denied the pit pass programs just for a BOV...thats gay
But just test drive both, and buy the one you liek the most...both are awesomes cars and are very evenly match...you will not regret it owning either one
So lets say I get the Vishnu Stage 1 Plus.
Which is,
Passive Boost Solenoid Emulator
Signature Series 3” Cat-Back Exhaust
Signature Series 3-inch Down-Pipe with modular High-Flow Catalyst
Pre-Set Adjustable Camshaft Gears HKS
Upgraded Camshafts
Upgraded Fuel Pump
so basically if anything goes wrong with the car, almost everything will be voided out on warranty? and I the dealership will make me pay for it?
