Lower tie bars question

I recently had a custom turboback exhaust made. However, it does not clear the tie bars.

My question is, do I really need the bars? Would it hurt to run the car without them?

You can use some washers to drop the tie bars. I'd say keep them on. Mitsubishi put them there for a reason.

You'll get more chassis flex if you take them off, but it shouldn't hurt your car ... just it's performance.

well if you went custom on the exhaust, might as well do custom on fitting the tie bars.

OT- is that Jordan Capri in your avatar?

RMR (not RRM) makes a great lower brace. Stronger than the stock units by far. I have it on my car even though my DP would have cleared the stock lower braces.

PS, its either Jordan Capri or Spring Thomas. Those two girls can look alike in certain pics. Don't ask how I know.

listen to me, don't listen to any of these people who haven't drive at least 5 months without it and 5 months with it.

Put that back on there.

Custom make one, hammer the crap out of your exhaust, whatever you do, put those on there.

Especially the one with the 3 holes in.

It's day and night difference in normal driving and track driving.

your car is a lot firmer, and you wont develop positive camber in your front rims, and negative ones on your rear with it.

With out it, you'll start having some camber problems that could lead to your tire wearing out unevenly as well as having your chasis flexing too much too mess your caster and control arm rigidity. It'll put a lot of force on your front suspension.

PUT IT BACK ON!

I believe that Mitsu put them there because under hard acceleration the chassis tends to spread apart.Put em back on.

I wouldnt say the RMR one is good it has a giant bend in it no way that thing is rigid.

Only if you are referring to the hard acceleration of a change in direction .. i.e. a corner. They make no difference and come under no load during straight line.

I have the "red" RMR brace also. And you the design, it does not look as strong as the stock single piece, let alone the 2 of the together. But well, that's what I get for having a Bigger pen!s. errr I mean DownPipe
